Interesting. I wonder what makes having a BSN more of an advantage?

I am in the same boat as you. I am in an MSN program now and will graduate as an advanced generalist. I want to become an NP and the way to do that is to do a post masters certificate.

You are paying for your education. Take control of it! If an instructor is not teaching, it is your job to let the director of the program know! There is a chain of command to let them know about a problem like this. I had the same issue in my program. We had a student flat out drop because am instructor was not teaching. And a few more have failed out because of that instructor. Do not let instructors like this get away with it!

Did you get an answer from that school? I am also interested to know how particular they are about that bsn requirement because I am in a similar route as you.

Well the reason is because I got my bachelors in another field. The msn program I am in now is a degree into nursing. I would like to work for maybe a year to gain experience as a nurse before doing a post masters certificate to become an NP (so I am not getting another msn degree) It is costly! I wish I knew I wanted to be a nurse sooner! Just wondering if anyone has gone this path as well. Thanks for your response!

Is there anyone that has gone through a master's into nursing program then gone on to do a post masters certificate to become a NP then gotten their DNP? I feel like I am the only person in my program who wants to continue after getting their MSN so I need some insight from someone who has gone through this path or is thinking about it.
