The 45-day waiting period is a BON/Pearson Vue shared rule...PV won't just let you retake the exam within 45 days. But you can get your ATT at any time, depending of course, on the BON's workload on processing new applications AND retakes. Which is actually unfair to retakers because you can only take so much within 365 days. Time is running whether you get your ATT in a week or in three months. The most number of retakes a person I know have done, five. Good luck on your second try.

Hello LaDeeDah. The license number should be underneath the "license/registration Number". Now I don't know how long it takes for them to include the license number on this page once you passed, so keep on checking. But if within a week and it's still not showing, then I suggest that you prepare yourself to retake the exam.

Like I have said, contact CA-BRN, and then Pearson Vue. California Board has a system that may be a lot different from the other 49 states. You're safer talking to them than learning from us...people here come from different states.

Hi. Just want to share my thoughts about BRN... I suggest that you keep bugging them about getting your second ATT, but after the 45 days grace period. You don't want to piss them off, but you don't want to waste precious time also. You only have 365 days to pass and get a license, so divide that by 45..you won't have a lot of chances, considering you keep failing. Good luck to you.

Hi. One thing I can share with you about CA Breeze.. If you already have an account, log on and then check on upper right and you will see "License/Registration Information". If you don't see any numbers underneath, then there's two possibilities. One, you failed. The other, they have not updated your account. One reason being, that you passed but have not paid for your license. Now here's what I call the CBT or Ca Breeze Trick (which I don't know if this has been going on or was done in the past)... On that same page on your account, check upper right (again) and click on "Update Profile". On the next page, go down and click on "Add Licences". The next page will ask you to pick the BON and then RN on the drop down menu. Do that and the next page, which has simple instructions. When you get to the page where it says "Good news!", and you find your full name, a number, license type, etc....then, you know that you passed and see the license number given to you. Whew! That was long! LOL Don't stress...don't even bother doing the PVT, just wait. Good things come at the right time. Best of luck to you.

I used NCSBN, along with all my notes from (foreign) school and I can say that it has helped me a lot. It all depends on how and what you review and how well you store and retain all the information in your brain. Does not matter which review program you register with, whether its UWORLD, or Kaplan, or NCSBN. I would also have to say that LUCK plays a part, as I personally know someone who works fullt-ime, have four kids, and did not review at all and passed the NCLEX-RN on first try. Now if you can afford to enroll in two programs, then go ahead. I believe UWORLD is $59/month and NCSBN goes about $50 for a 3-week review. $109 is not bad for both.

That's unfortunate. So you have 45 days from the time you took the exam to register and pay for another test, which I believe is $150 for retakes. You are allowed to take the exams as many as you can but only after 45 days of the last failed test, AND within 365 days of your permit. So nothing to worry about. Just wait for the BON letter and they will inform you. But if you made a new payment for a new test with PV, call them to clear the issue..since you mentioned not getting a new ATT. My understanding is that a person would have to have a NEW ATT before taking a RETAKE exam. Best thing to do is call BON or Pearson Vue to clear matters...don't depend on what other people say. And don't forget to write down the full names of the persons you spoke with!

Hi Kaikai. Let me guess...studied in the Philippines? So you're saying you just took the NCLEX and officially failed? Or, you just feel like you failed and then registered again with PV to take another test, without even getting official results from CaBON? See, there are specific instruction on how to retake a test, and waiting 45 days is part of it. If you want to know what exactly you should do, I suggest you contact CaBON BY PHONE or go to their Sacramento office. DO NOT email or send them a letter because they DO NOT respond right away. Hi Masdeb. That's the thing about the PVT..it is a trick. So you're right about it not being fool-proof. It's nice to know that it worked out well for you and for others, but I personally would not depend on it. I forgot the title of that post where I read that the person did it, followed instruction right to the dot, and mentioned failing anyway. There's also the issue of when exactly to do the PVT, and even one's location/state. Anyway, congratulations to you and enjoy your new career! :)

Well, it is a good sign that you passed. But I personally think this PVT thingy is just a coincidence since there are a few posts by people who had gotten the good pop-up and then get a letter by mail that they had failed. Still, keep your hopes up on receiving the real good letter from your state board in you mailbox. At any rate, congratulations to you in advance!

Hi Mag. I see. I really don't know what to tell you as I have not done it myself. I do think it is a glitch as I have read some posts here about people getting the "good pop-up" and yet receiving letters that they had failed. If you can't wait for the official result by mail, then Quick Result would be a good option. You're lucky because we don't have that here in California. I took the RN exam last Friday and opted to wait for the pass/fail letter. It is what it is, no need to stress. The downside is, if a person waits many days to many weeks for the result, it eats up time within the 45-day waiting period and you will be unsure if you should review again or not.

ALL of the posts here regarding PVT have vague or less accurate or detailed instructions. One individual posted a somewhat detailed way on how to do the PVT, but a lot of comments still showed different or varied actions made, such as doing it IMMEDIATELY after taking the test..or doing it around the same time you took the test but the following day. I personally think this is just a glitch that a lot of people think to be true...they simply passed. I have also read posts claiming that they got the "good pop-up", only to receive a letter that they failed. I suggest you just wait for the official result and not even risk paying again..like you did in the past. Good luck to you.

I believe the PVT is a myth...an illusion. People may want to believe it does work but do you really think Pearson Vue and the Board would allow such glitch in their system? It is a very good coincidence that all those who got "good pop-ups" passed their test, but then there are also those who failed. The only real way to know is to wait for the official result. Best thing you can do is relax and do your ADLs. Stressing won't do any good.
