  1. hey, actually i'm already CPR certified because of my job, and they charge less than the one advertised in the application. Let me know if you want the info for that. But i will be going to the "scrub" fitting on the 23rd so that i can order it from the website. Hopefully ill see some of you there! :)
  2. thank you!! it was 3.4 and 78 on the TEAs. If i were you i would try to redo the TEAS, since our GPA was pretty similar. However i also took calculus just in case my gpa was too low for this semester and got an A, as like a backup plan.
  3. I said i would post when i got the letter and here it is: I was accepted!!! I honestly can't believe it, I'm still in shock. If you didn't get in, just keep trying! Believe me, i have been there. I worked so hard to pull my grades up and pass. Failing isn't what defines you, its about how you get back up and fight. Thanks to you ladies/gents who participated in these forums and provided some peace of mind for the insane worry.
  4. hmm maybe. On my application it only showed 1275 and up. And that's for this semester. But if that's the case then go for it! Your class though will be worth less than someone who takes math 1275 or 1375 and got an A, because it's a harder course (its weighted). As long as you do good in your AP course and get a decent score on the TEAs, you should be good to go.
  5. Currently going through the same, I've had to retake a math course and wait to finally be able to apply for this semester. I will be really upset if i have to wait another 6 months to apply again
  6. nope. I keep checking my mailbox and nothing yet. I have a strong feeling it's coming on June 5th, since its exactly 2 weeks to the date since the semester ended, and other people got it around that time. I will make sure to post as soon as i get it though.
  7. Nothing here yet either...i can imagine you're all as nervous as i am. I will post if i got in as soon as i find out, it would be great if you both do the same. Good luck! Hoping we all get good news.
  8. You need to take Math 1275, college algebra and trig. The math course you have now is not accepted, check with the nursing handbook (on city tech's website). Make sure you give yourself enough time to study for the TEAs, remember that no calculator is allowed for the math portion. Also, you can only replace 1 course, so the others do not matter.
  9. No, unless the higher class taken is calculus. Its called a "weighted grade" and will only be factored in if the class taken was a harder class than required, so to speak. Child psych in place of psych 101 is a higher class, but not necessarily challenging enough to be weighted. In that case the nursing office will replace lets say your psych grade for your child psych because you did better in it, but it won't be weighted or add to your gpa. This is from the nursing book: "When a student has received a “C” or better on more than one introductory course but has not received a “D” or “F” in an introductory course, the student may replace only one of the introductory course grades with the grade of the next level course to raise their G.P.A. (ex. ENG 1121 forENG 1101; BIO 2312 for BIO 2311; PSY 2301 for PSY 1101; or MAT 1375 or higher or MAT 1272 for MAT 1275). Students with a higher level of Math (MAT 1375 or higher) will have their grade weighted."
  10. No that's total amount of students. Stay positive and hope for the best! That's what I'm doing. I'm about more worried about the gpa (around the same as yours) since I know that's what they look at first. Best of luck! I think the acceptance/denial letters are sent 2 weeks after the current semester is over.
  11. I was told you need a 3.7 gpa in the 4 pre-reqs to solidify yourself a seat in the program, I'm pretty sure there is only 81 seats available per semester (16,000 total students) and they rarely get below a 3.3 gpa. I applied this semester as well and scored 78% on the TEAS test. Check some other post on these boards and most of the time you'll see students got in with 3.7+ gpa's. By the way, you can take the TEAs exam only twice. So if that was your first exam, consider reapplying after taking the test again. Just a quick question: did the advisor say you didn't have a chance because of your gpa pr TEAs score?
