Congrats all but just wondering don't know if this is too detailed to ask but are the questions about medications very detailed or can you have a general understanding about meds and get away with it?

Depressed New Grad
@joanna73 I completely agree with you most schools lie to get students and get money from the tuition. I was one of those fooled and regret my decision but what can I do I'm close at the end of the tunnel getting prepared to write a hard and expensive exam filled with debts, broken dreams and no certainty about jobs. Do I go back to school for another program, do I push through all the adversaries and keep going until I land a job... but wait I still have to actually pass that NCLEX exam hah. I don't know.. so I agree with OP and know how much stress there is being a new grad. Hang in there.

"Working in LTC = Loss of Skills."
I agree with what most people posted above, any experience is valuable. I haven't done placement in LTC giving meds to that many patients so I have high respect to those nurses that are able to do time management efficiently and manage an entire floor alone.

Nursing Debt and Salary in Canada
Hello, before looking at the salary I would see if you are actually interested in what nurses do though. Accounting is very different from nursing and you might end up being in more debt if you start nursing and end up not liking it. I went through the same thing trying to figure out how to go about going into a business management program instead because I thought my personality was not really meant for nursing as I am very introverted. It's also very hard to find a job in nursing now but if you have connections and seems like you do since your sister is a nurse then you might land a job quicker than some people like me :) Good luck in your decisions though it's all up to you in the end.

Urinary catheterization and wound care-where to learn
Hi there, I was following your old thread about your past employer and glad your looking for another job. I'm in a similar position as I am a new grad RN in Ontario but have very limited experience and would like to start doing those courses as well. If you ever find something let me know. :)

rpn with no experience for job interview.. help!
Hi, have you decided to stick as an RPN? Congratulations on your job interview. I was taught from our interview sessions that experience though important to have, you have to be honest about what happened like loriangel14 said. If it's something understandable, as long as you explain it properly using good choice of words you should be fine. Let us know how it goes! Good luck.

Not sure if Nursing is for me, guidance please? :)
@Loststudent Thank you for taking the time to come back tell your story! I really appreciate it. I applaud you for having the strength and courage to actually make that decision-the decision that I never had the courage to make for the past 3 years. Yeah I think the biggest difference is that I'm so into deep in the program already and only have a year left but honestly I'm not even sure what my standing in the program is anymore. I definitely don't want to be miserable and your right life is too short, I think that's the biggest lesson I learned from my endeavors in nursing. Have you gone to a different program related to health care or considered it? Or are you thinking of going a completely different route? I think one of my biggest downfall is my character; I can't seem to decide if I don't have a solid plan for my actions but truth is, no one really knows what lies ahead of them so sometimes we have to take risks to find out much like what you did. Also, the time, the effort, the challenges that I went through was way to much for me to quit now much like you said I just want to finish the year off but because of that class I had failed, there's a huge chance I might get kicked off the program which made me consequently think.. well I wasted so much money, effort, and time to do this and one slip up is causing me to pay for it. Anyhow, I think that's really the biggest factor that's driving me nuts. Thank you for your reply. I wish you the best at your new challenges! (I'm bad at making my own cheesy lines sorry )

rpn wants to become an accountant, how many years?
I want to pursue a different career too (I'm still a nursing student) and was considering business or accounting a choice. I think we would still have to do the whole 4 years over again because the discipline is different maybe if it was related to health more. Please let me know what you have decided? I'm interested in it very much too.

Not sure if Nursing is for me, guidance please? :)
@Loststudent I know it's been a year since this thread was made but because I'm go through the same thing I would like to know what happened if you decided to decide to stay in nursing or not. I have been deciding to quit nursing since first year too, not because I hate the job but because I felt like I couldn't survive I always, like you said felt drained out and didn't know if I could go on. Well 3 years have passed since I started and I'm now on third year but still don't like it. I still feel very stressed for clinical..and I can't exactly quit because I am already in so much debt from tuition and I don't exactly know where to go either. I'd like to discuss to other peers like you what options they took? I feel like I'm compensating my mental health as well since I have recently failed a course and have to repeat it and risk literally failing out the program. I don't know if I should quit now or see it through the end but risk literally getting booted out.
