  1. Hello there, I have also applied, for the second time this year. Did anyone receive acceptance letters already? I haven't heard from SC anything yet. I think their website says 4 weeks after application closes. That would be mid May, but I remember last year I've been reading that people were getting accepted earlier than that. I wish they sent out rejection letters too (no matter how much I would hate to receive one).
  2. Congrats to everyone who got it! I'm waitlisted. Which I don't mind, cuz they go down the list a bit, however, I'm #75 so don't think I have a chance to become accepted later on.
  3. Oh, I see. Thank you! One more question: when it says on website that number 170 and up will be notified on April 17th after 5 pm, do they mean that these people can receive an email anytime between April 17th and April 30th, or just on that only day of April 17th? Btw, Did anyone receive an email ?
  4. Hey guys, I have a silly question: can anyone explain me why they chose number 170 if they only pick 80 people for the program? I get that they have alternates, but 90 of them sounds like a big number. Thanks!
  5. Question for Spring 2015 students: have you received any emails from Ohlone about orientation or any information? Just curious about any info available. Thanks!
  6. Hi Wonimal, Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I am starting CCSF nursing this Fall and kind of nervous but excited. I have a few questions though: how is it going with a job placement? Do you have any options right now? Does.the school help you with that? Also, did you get your Bachelors while going to CCSF? And which school? Thank you! And good luck to you with NCLEX! :-)
  7. Has anyone heard anything??
  8. Does Ohlone has a Pharmacology class in their program? I didn't see one.
  9. Hey FutureRN2016, Thank you so much for your interest in my situation! And your info was very helpful. I just feel so overwhelmed with new information and scared to make a wrong choice. I was leaning towards Ohlone in the first place but I learnt about myself that I need time to make the right decision and not rush. I think I got most of my immunizations done cuz I started volunteering at the hospital so I had to provide all of it about 5 months ago. I certainly have things to do for fall while wait for spring semester to start. I want to take pharmacology class and pathophysiology, also spanish will be helpful (always wanted to do that). BTW, welcome to website. I myself been visiting this website for awhile before finally registered. I find so much help and support here, I can't even express how amazing it is to share ur experience with others. Let's keep each other posted on updates. I would love to hear ur feedback from 1st semester. Thanks again! P.S. I love your nickname!
  10. Thanks again! I will wait before doing the physical. I already signed up for a few classes at Ohlone, I don't need orientation for new students at Ohlone, I just was wondering if there is one for new nursing only students. Maybe later.
  11. Thanks luffle! One more question: can I do my physical right now or is there a certain time frame for it?
  12. I know it might sound silly but what now?? I'm in for Spring, what should I do at this point? I m not sure if I should start immunizations yet since it is early or should I? I have my CPR done at this point. I can't register for classes yet and don't know what books to buy. Any thoughts?
  13. Thanks luffle! Please let me know if there is going to be one. I wanted to attend.
  14. Is there an orientation for new fall 2014 students?
  15. Hey, I was at CCSF orientation on wed. I also accepted to another school in Fremont but for spring 2015. I got a good feeling at the orientation and it gave me a little more confidence about their accreditation situation. But I was raised not to trust anything people say, so I am still not sure which school I am going to choose. They say they will take care of us even if smth is to happen but u never know. At the same time I know a nurse who graduated from ccsf and got a job afterwards. She said only good things about the school. Of course she went there 9 years ago, things have changed since then. What is your opinion after orientation?
  16. For those who got accepted for Fall 2014: have you guys been informed about orientation date? Or any other info like books, etc.
  17. I was at orientation as well. It is hard to make a decision, I hear you. They did a good job at the orientation convincing us the accreditation issue will be straighten out and I don't think such a big school just going to close. Plus I read some stuff online that the judge said that CCSF will not lose its accreditation until the trial is over, and the date for trial has not been set up yet. So... I am more convinced that the school won't close. But I also heard good things about Ohlone. I am a new student to both school. Commute for me is bad either way. I am in Alameda now but might be moving after summer. The fact that u already in Ohlone and u live in Fremont too makes you lean towards Ohlone of course. Just for that I would chose Ohlone. But I am like u I want to start school now in Fall, rather than wait till spring. Have you bought the books for CCSF yet?
  18. I hear you. I emailed nursing department last week saying that I know that they sent out emails already but is there a way to find out if I got in or not. They emailed me back this Monday saying that "as it is stated on website nonselected applications won't be notified" and if I was not contacted by now I was not selected. Sorry to brake this bad news to you but decisions are made. I went through same thing. Good luck! Hopefully you have other choices.
  19. Hi there,I have exactly the same problem!!! This is so crazy. I'm at CCSF for fall 2014 and Ohlone for Spring2015 and I don't know which school to go to. I thought I had it all figured out and now I am soooooo confused. Have you attended an orientation at CCSF?
  20. Just received a really rude email from one of Ohlone College representatives (won't post the name, I'm it's not allowed). Basically states to NOT contact them about student status for the nursing program as they are too busy dealing with Fall 2014 people who are selected. The letter almost calls you a dumb person as your job right now is to "sit and wait." Funny thing is that I received this email by a mistake, because I didn't email them or contact them in any way whatsoever, someone else did.
  21. Thx for cheering me up. I didn't, and I got into school I wanted to get in - Ohlone College. :-) So don't lose hope works for me!
  22. I didn't receive an email. I guess they only send out emails for those who got in for fall.
