NCC nursing program
You know it doesn't specify on the packet whether they want it double spaced or not. I'm going to double space mine. In general a lot of professors prefer the double space so I'm hoping they will also

WHAT? I haven't actually ever used blackboard while at ncc, thanks for letting us know daisydukes987!! I'm so excited for orientation this Thursday, if anything we should all try to find each other and then we'll go from there.. Idk how to create pages on fb either. And I bought my scrub and shoes as well but I didn't get a stethoscope yet. Time is moving fast, can't believe classes start next week!

Hey my name is Monique :) the three books on the syllabus that are required are at the library and are on reserve meaning we can take them out for an hour or so at a time and they will remain in the library. 1. Kozier&Erb's Fundamentals of Nursing:Concepts, Process & Practice 9th edition 2. Medical Surgical Nursing: Critical Thinking in Patient Care 5th edition 3. Handbook of Nursing Diagnosis 14th edition I haven't personally visited the bookstore yet though so hopefully they have the lab only sections sold separately. I'm trying to minimize my spending for this fall, so I'm not planning on buying anything that I can use for free. I don't live far from NCC anyway so if I have to spend a few hours in the library, I will

Well I made a trip to NCC's library and they have all three of the textbooks on reserve! So for those of you who are on a budget (like myself) you could always buy the lab only material at the bookstore and use the reserve copies of the textbook during the study group (that we should form lol)

Yea on that packet they gave us behind the page for the math test is the schedule. On that schedule depending on your section the hospitals are Plainview SNCH, Franklin NUMC, Huntington, or Winthrop

Oh ok, thanks for the tip, I didn't think it would be that price but I'll start saving for them. According to the packet they gave us they want us to read ch. 10 from one book and ch 16 from another by orientation! So guess I'll be saving till August for books and scrubs

It's just for clinicals and I haven't checked the prices on the books yet but they said only get the required texts not the suggested stuff unless you have money to splurge. Hopefully we'll be able to use them in the spring too.. did you check out the prices at the book store or online?

They assigned us a CRN on May 20th, that day we were able to either go to registrar to register, or go online and register ourselves

Yea that's what I plan on doing, I signed up for it for the summer, luckily there were still some openings.I took all of those classes except the specific life span course lol smh I plan on taking med micro next summer, that section is closed off even the wait list

Yes that fb page would be such a good help. I'm in section A1, so I have Plainview hospital. They're asking me to take med microbio as well but they also want me to take English II and Psy 216. In my other college I took psy infancy and childhood as well as adolescents and aging. I thought it was equivalent

Registration was typical long lines, they're trying to make me take a class that I'm pretty sure I already completed so I asked them to reevaluate my transcript
-
NCC nursing program
I will be, I thought it was cool, I met some folks in my section, the letters that they passed out from previous students was a nice touch. My letter was funny and encouraging

Ncc fall 2014 applicants
But where does it say to meet? Do they just want you to go to the nursing department at those times?
-
Ncc fall 2014 applicants
I checked and my status says undergrad nursing day, it said that ever since I got the acceptance email! Another reason I wanted to make sure I registered early was because they still haven't given me a specific time to be there on the 20th. So is there a specific room for nursing registration, will there be interviews that day? I only had one page to my acceptance letter

Ncc fall 2014 applicants
Maybe I've jumped to register too soon but I will still show up May 20th, I just wanted to make sure I get the section I wanted lol

Ncc fall 2014 applicants

Those credits can still apply toward the liberal arts requirements for the degree, and depending on your plans for the future, those credits can be transferred and used for a bachelor's

I also got an email but when I called the nursing program for when I can register, they said they will send out a letter about registration separately. Although some ppl received both letters simultaneously
-
NCC nursing program
And congrats everyone!!! Those of you who received email or letters, is the registration date the same for everyone? Cause my email didn't give me a specific date and time, it just stated that I was accepted to day program

It depends on what you want to do while you're in the program, do you plan on working as a cna per diem or part time for some income or do you plan on being unemployed through the nursing program. I'm planning on working per diem at my current job, since I don't qualify for financial aid and since my job includes passing out meds and working with individuals it will also give me experience in somewhat of a healthcare setting.

Congrats ChrisRyan!! And NYCGuy86, that's a good strategy, taking courses that will help accelerate an rn-bsn program! Thanks for the idea :-)

Thanks and I do live near the school. I was a non degree student at ncc and I walked in with my application and all of my transcripts. I also have a bs in psych. I didn't do that well on the TEAS=(75) and my pre req gpa was only 3.6 so you guys definitely have a chance but I'm not sure if I get points for having experience in hospital settings cause I also have them a copy of my resume
