Sport Physicals for the Under Served
Hi! I am a recently licensed CPNP in the state of FL. I have a real passion for performing community service and helping the under served. I would really like to provide sports physicals in an inner city area here locally to help divert some of the children and teens to after school programs instead of other activities that could lead to disaster. I have teamed up with my local United Way and they are very interested in working with me. A few questions to anyone who has been doing this longer than me :) 1. If cleared by my collaborating physician this should be okay correct? 2. For those who have Medicaid could I bill Medicaid for performing the physical? I plan on being very thorough in my paperwork and intake ect. Still trying to get the logistics down but right now I would love any insight from anyone who has done something similar or may be able to point me in the right direction on where I could find the information. I am currently combing through my state practice act but my eyes are starting to cross :)

Webinars for MO nurses
I'm in the final stages of opening a private duty service in MO during my journey I have found a slew of information that I would love to share in an online webinar the rules, regulations, and other information that I've learned. This wouldn't be a how to webinar but would definitely give information to get people headed in the right direction. It would mainly focus on the state of MO but could be beneficial to others I'm trying to find out how many people would be interested. I'm thinking of charging anywhere from $20-30. I'm hoping the seminar be anywhere from an hour to two hours. Would anyone be interested in attending this? Thoughts, thanks!

Private Pay Home Health Care
Has anyone had any experience with private pay home health services? I am looking to open a private pay/insurance pay private duty company. I am currently working on getting my certification to bill Medicaid/Medicare which takes since months in the state of MO. However, to open a private pay company there is no cert. needed. I am trying to find out if any other nurses have had some success with private pay and if you have any advice for someone just getting into the home care business. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

SSM Futures
I applied for the futures program I graduated in December. It takes a while for them to get back with you...like months. You will get an email asking you to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview was weird because they asked me a nursing scenario question. So be prepared. I ended up going with a position in the NICU at Childrens. A friend of mine went through with it and you dont have any true input on where you end up going. They assign you a floor. Hope this helps. Good luck!

First license/ job/ moving questions
Congrats on graduation! I just graduated in December, so this whole process is still pretty fresh for me. I'm not sure about your school, but our school walked us through filling out the application for licensure. They even had a person dedicated for us to talk to in regards getting licensed in another state. MN is actually pending legislature according to the nurse license compact act website. Truly you have a few options get your MN license and work there until they become a compact state and then move. Or call the state board in Colorado and clarify the information about being a state resident. I'm sure there is some type of regulation about relocating. However, I will say try not to have your heart set on just that. Jobs can be hard to come by. I didn't have a hard time and landed the exact job I wanted, but I've heard from others that for a new grad I'm truly blessed to have done that! I hope this helps good luck with everything!

I would like to be a nurse in the entertainment industry...where to get started?
I know this is an old thread, but I am a new member and am currently working on researching the importance of nurses on sports teams. While there is very little research and very little information out there. I am looking for what other nurses think our profession would have to add to a medical team of physicians when it comes to sports teams and athletes! Any information would be greatly appreciated!
