  1. Thank you girls... That makes me feel better... Ok I will give it another try for September!
  2. Well I called timara and I got deferred. She said there were over 300 applicants and they took about 150. So I can choose to be considered for sept or nov start dates. They initially said they were going to accept everyone but now they're having to wait on that due to the overwhelming volume. I don't know if I want to go thru this again. My mav and email still not updated!
  3. Well looks like you'll be waiting a while!! The asst emailed me and said yes we will know either way, by tomm... Which was yesterday... I've called the admissions office with no help, and the dept, whose voicemail said candidates will know by the end of the week....good or bad, I'd like to know before school starts!
  4. Kim you are too sweet I hope so! Then we can be study buddies! My last name starts with an H, so here's to hoping! I appreciate the encouragement. And if all else fails, I do have a plan B!
  5. Do they notify you around the same time if you weren't accepted? I'm about to crazy waiting on this
  6. Congrats Kim! Timara responded saying they're sending out the letters today or tomm... Still haven't gotten anything from them, keeping my fingers crossed
  7. Timara told me they were hoping to accept everyone who met the qualifications with no cap... This was in April... So I'm hoping they're just behind!
  8. I called the office of admissions and they said they'd let us know either way, and this has been the norm lately with the nursing dept because there are so many applicants. Timara is the one that has not been responding to me... They must be super busy, she has responded in the past...I appreciate the info buggy and I hope all goes well for you
  9. I've been checking online my mav and email, but nothing! I'm thinking that there's more spots this cohort but school starts in less than 2 weeks! My contact person is not responding to me, and I would like to know one way or another. Do they let you know immediately if you aren't accepted?
  10. I'm getting really frustrated. I've sent a few emails with no response yet. I've either got to start school or get back to work full time. Anyone heard anything yet? I'm beginning to assume I didn't get in
  11. Bees, can you give me a heads up on how you're liking it so far? Which classes did you start with? I'm nervous about advanced patho so anything you can advise me on would be appreciated!
  12. No thank goodness it's not just me! The program starts 2 weeks from Monday so I'm feeling frustrated!
  13. Kim have you heard anything?
  14. I hated and detested the health assessment class! It took forever to do the assessments and if you missed one word or phrase they counted off.... I didn't like the professor or the coaches.... Vulnerable pop, care of older adult and co op weren't hard... Co op was super easy! Just journaling your work experience for the week.... Graduated with bsn in 2012
  15. Just curious to see how the new fnp program online is going at UTA. I applied for August start date and hopefully will hear something by end of the week. How are the classes ( esp advanced patho). I'm nervous and wanting to get a jump start.... Any advice/suggestions?
  16. Thanks for all the feedback Idawn I also have applied for the program but I applied for the August start date. I want to enjoy my summer before the madness starts!!! Patho and pharm scare the crap out of me! Not looking forward to those classes at all. Please continue to update as you can thanks!
  17. I have 5 years experience as an RN, and received my BSN from UT Arlington last year. I didnt do as well in the BSN program because of a lot of personal problems at the time as well as not doing my best. And at the time I wasnt interested in furthering my education until recently. UT Arlington has had an FNP program on campus, but has recently started an all online FNP program back in February. I have talked with the enrollment specialist who gave me a ton of information. There are 8 start dates a year, and have same basic requirements as other schools (3.0 last 60 hours of BSN, C in stats, 1 year as an RN). She also reported to me that they are accepting a lot of the students who went through their BSN program. So maybe start with the school where you got your BSN... Another thing I can say for UTA is that apparantly they are not as selective as other schools. Maybe its because they recognize the need for NPs today, I do not know. I spoke with the assistant to the director of the program, who relayed to me that by August there will be no cap on how many are selected for the program, and they will also admit everyone who meets the qualifications. JACKPOT!! And no GRE if under a 3.0, but they will still consider you.. I also spoke with the director at UT El Paso, and she stated to me they also take into consideration where you would be practicing. I live in a "rural area" (West Texas) and she told me that she accepts a lof of students from here because of the demand here for NPs. So not all hope is lost. A year ago, I thought there wasnt a chance in hell I could get into a NP program. I am not a straight A student, but I know I can get through these courses. I am a hands on learner, so I am excited with the clinical components of the program. Just an FYI. I was very happy with the program at UTA. Its a little expensive but comnparable to other schools
