  1. Westchester Medical Center is in no way affiliated with Montefiore, and never was.
  2. If anyone is still reading, are nurses at brooklyn hospital required to wear white scrubs?
  3. I checked in with Frank Bee's yesterday and was told the scrubs weren't in yet. Thanks for the updates about the fall schedule. I havent received any communication from the college since early July (and I am checking my concordia email daily!) and when I emailed Leich I didnt get a response.
  4. Hey, wondering if anyone has received their schedules/info about orientation yet? I just realized it is less than two weeks away and I haven't heard anything.
  5. Hi AshleyKB! Thanks for the update and hope you enjoy campus housing! I am still kind of curious to see what it looks like on the inside, even though I won't be living there. As far as textbooks, during our mini-orientation in June, they recommended we get the books before classes start. That way you can shop around for the best deals and won't miss out if they take a while to ship. I bought some books from a current student and purchased others online.
  6. I'm curious to know if any of you ever heard from campus housing? Every time I call I am told they are sending out letters "next week". At this point, I've given up on the idea of living on-campus and am wondering if anyone else ever got a straight answer!
  7. Thanks, memw! That worked perfectly
  8. Has anyone had trouble signing up online for the background check? The package number listed on my sheet, CC07B6DT, shows up as invalid when I enter it on the website.
  9. Wow, that sounds great! I would also be interested in getting her contact info. Thanks, copelam5280!
  10. memw, I did go with the XS. They offer XXS, but he didn't have any available to try on. I probably should have gone with the XXS scrub top, bc that polyester is definitely not shrinking in the dryer! haha The XS pants were incredibly wide, but the length was just about right for my height. The salesperson I spoke to said they would be ready the first wk of August.
  11. FYI - I stopped by Frank Bee's today to check out the sizes for the scrubs & lab coat, and the sizes run HUGE. I am 5'5" and was swimming in the XS.
  12. Thanks for the taking the time, ConcordiaCSNA! I was wondering if you get to have any input or plan your own class/rotation schedule, or if the school does everything for you and just hands you a schedule at the beginning of each semester? Thanks :)
  13. I am attending the 6/25 orientation session, anybody else? I've kind of been dragging my feet when it comes to housing.... a few half-hearted searches on craigslist is about as far as I've gotten. I originally planned on living alone but would be open to roommates. I should probably start making more of an effort sometime soon :-) For those of you who will be attending the 6/19 session, I'd love to hear an overview of what was covered if you have the time!
  14. Congrats, Renzwi & Mango91! Sounds like more than a few of us will be apt hunting this summer :) I *think* I read on Concordia's website that housing for the fall & spring semesters started at $10,000, but I believe that was the rate for double occupancy regular undergrad housing. Since the the nursing program runs through the summer and is not a traditional dorm, it is probably priced differently. I would imagine somewhere over $10k is probably in the ballpark, though.
  15. Frat house vibe is probably not what Im looking for at this point - thanks for the info! And good luck with the apt search :)
  16. Congratulations, copelam5280! I am attending and have sent in my deposit, now I'm just waiting to see what's next. I'm also looking to move closer to the school - my interviewer mentioned that they do offer on-campus housing that caters specifically to absn and master's program students. Have you heard anything about it? I will probably end up getting an apt but the convenience of on-campus housing certainly has its appeal! Anyway, you are the first person Ive heard from that will definitely be attending - I look forward to meeting you!!
  17. That's great, memw! Once they received all my paperwork, it wasn't long before my interview was scheduled and the decision followed soon after, so your wait shouldn't be too long. Good luck!
  18. Nguyent, I just realized you may be referring to Concordia University Irvine (they definitely have a June 2 deadline) but this thread is for Concordia College located in Bronxville, NY :)
  19. Thanks so much, nguyent! Originally, the website listed a March 15th deadline, but it looks like they extended it. Everything I've read on these boards and heard from past students indicates that Concordia is a really great school with a supportive environment, so I'm really grateful to have been accepted :) As far as my stats, I received an A in all my prereqs except for A&P1 (B+) and on the TEAS I scored in the high 90s (percentile rank) for each of the 4 sections. My overall undergrad GPA was really so-so, and I feel so lucky that I am getting a second chance to do it "right" - I definitely didn't appreciate school as much as I could have the first time around! And that's one of the many things I like about Concordia - they look at the applicant as a whole instead of just ranks and grades. I had a strong letter of rec and good volunteer experience, so I think that helped quite a bit. Are you planning on applying to Concordia? Good luck and keep us updated!
  20. Yes, I have! I received my acceptance letter two days ago. I was originally told it would take about a month before I heard something so I was surprised (and really excited!) to receive an answer so quickly. It was my first choice so I will definitely be attending this fall. Did you apply as well?
  21. Thanks for the info and good luck in your program this fall!
  22. Hey everyone! I thought I'd start a thread for those of us applying to Concordia for the upcoming fall semester. Previous classes have had really active threads in this forum, and I'd love to meet some of my potential (fingers crossed!) new classmates. I just had my interview, so now I'm in the checking-my-mailbox-everyday phase of the application process How is everyone feeling? Have you applied anywhere else? Was anyone else surprised by the TEAS requirement? Hope to hear from you!
