  1. In orientation Mr. Stewart said that the business office would not bump anyone from their classes for not paying the SHIP fees. He instructed us to deduct the amount of the SHIP fee from the total amount of tuition due and only pay that amount. If you pay it and you already have insurance it will take a while to get your money back. He also said that the waiver period doesn't end until September 19th, so we have plenty of time to fill them out and submit them before the deadline. Hope this helps.
  2. Students in the BSN program have the option to take classes in the Summer if a class needed is offer in the Summer, which would make the course load lighter the following semester. However, the graduation date doesn't change.
  3. I'm not sure how organized the program will be with 120 students:cautious:. I know my friend began her program Fall 2013, which was the first year that they selected 100+ students, and she said it was unorganized and confusing. They didn't have two selection periods either, some people received rejection letters, and then a couple of weeks after the school received more funding for the nursing program, some of the same people received acceptance letters in the mail. This was also the same semester that MGSC lost nursing professors to Mercer University and Wesleyan College, so their cohort had a lot of new professors. We have been waiting so long for this, so I hope they get it together before the semester start. Oh, and if it's true that the ASN program will start this summer, I wonder when they would get their supply and book list. They would also have to take the BLS course, have their immunizations updated, and have the background checks completed. It seems like a very short period of time to have these things completed, because the Summer semester starts May 28th. To the people who were selected for the ASN program what date did they give you for your orientation?
  4. You did an amazing job:yes:. As long as you have a decent GPA I think you have a very good chance at being accepted to the Fall 2014 program. We have the same score in math, but I didn't score in the 90's in English. Again congrats definitely something to be proud of.
  5. Congrats to everyone that have been accepted so far:up:.
  6. From my understanding, the BSN and ASN programs both take two years to complete because you're only allowed to take certain classes every semester. The difference between the two is that every semester in the BSN program you have a full-time course load of nothing but nursing classes. First semester BSN takes 15 credit hours and first semester ASN takes 7 credit hours (I believe), keep in mind these hours do not include lab or clinical hours. The ASN program is geared toward students who are raising families, working full-time, or wanting to get into the workforce sooner (prereqs are completed quicker). The ASN course load is a part-time load, and if you plan on being full-time you would take additional hours like classes needed for the BSN program or other electives. The BSN and ASN programs that start Fall 2014 will graduate Spring 2016
  7. @Mzuniqu3_13, once you begin the test there will be a calculator on the screen that you can use whenever you need it. They will also give you scratch paper if you need it.
  8. @lorahump78, I reserved my seat on Friday I tried to wait and play it cool but I couldn't:). I can't wait to meet everyone either. I don't gave anything to take this summer, I'm finished after this semester:whistling: @Striving2BgreatNurse, there are six totally online Area B classes being offered this Summer. You can look them up under the course schedule for the Summer 2014 semester. Then just click the Area B tab. It looks like it's perspective on narrative or computers being offered. You might want to go ahead, and look the teachers up on rate my professor.com while you still have options and lock one in.
  9. @Lorahump78: I'm sorry about your commute that is pretty far, for first semester they register us for classes. I believe they will tell us that at the orientation in July, and there's no need to worry about classes filling up, because they have enough classes for all the applicants they selected. I wonder how big our class will be since it seems everyone on here for the BSN program was selected?
  10. I have a friend in the the 2nd semester of the BSN program and she has to travel back and forth between both campuses, sometimes on the same day. For the BSN program our classes start at the 3000 level. The course schedule for Fall 2014 is showing 60 seats for the BSN Fundamental Concepts class, so it looks like we will be on Warner Robins campus at least part of the time. I live in WR so I wouldn't mind too much:cool:
  11. I'll just leave a pitcher of water, sliced lemons, and sugar on the table.
  12. Good Morning:) I got my acceptance letter to the BSN program today, and I'm excited to meet everyone at the July orientation. I noticed the date on the letter is April 10th and the date on the envelope was April 15th, but anyway extremely blessed to be accepted:cat:.
  13. oh wow, that would have been a perfect program for you. Once you're accepted maybe they will give you the option of joining that cohort. I wish they had that option for the BSN because I'm tired of paying for daycare and my daughter could stay home with me. It will be interesting to see how the clinical hours are arranged.
  14. I don't know if you're still looking for a school, but Middle Georgia State College has just reopened their applications with a deadline of May 12, 2014 for the Fall 2014 programs. They have ASN, BSN, and RN-BSN and apparently they are also starting an evening and weekend program.
  15. Also, I went to the online application section and they have a new evening and weekend ASN program for the Warner Robins and Dublin Campuses? That's going to be awesome for people that are balancing work and families. Hopefully everyone on here have already been accepted;).
