I'm going to be moving to Elgin, which will be about a 20-30 min commute to school. I have children and I haven't heard very good things about living in Lawton except for a neighborhood called Sherwood (I believe) in NW Lawton.

Just got a call from the admissions advisor... I got a spot in Lawton! I'll have to move, but so grateful I got a spot at all.

The OKC campus advisor was at the Norman campus yesterday. She'll be there again this Friday in Wagner Hall from 1:30-3:30pm. I felt better after going over my application stats and talking to her... Asking specifics always helps when you're in limbo. The best advice I got was to do good this and summer semester because there could be a few who fail, don't meet reqs, or something else comes up and they drop. She also stressed keeping your records updated on Nursing CAS. Also, they won't start calling alternates (if they are accepted) for another two weeks or so. People have 10 days to decline a spot and it takes a few days to review the wait list. Hope that helps.

clbrown84 are you wait listed for all three campuses? I spoke with the academic advisor and she said Lawton is the most likely place alternates will end up since many people turn down that campus because they got accepted to Tulsa or OKC. Praying that we both get a call. Good luck!

acabadas have you previously applied? I'm trying to figure out my chances. I called the nursing advisor at OKC and she said there is no ranking system to alternates and would not let me know how many alternates were selected. I'm wondering if anyone has any insight to this. I'm in the Navy and selection to Nursing school will determine my next relocation orders. I'm grateful I made the wait list, but so much is up in the air that I'm stressing out like crazy.

I got selected as an alternate for all three campuses this year. My application status has not changed on their website. The only reason I found out is because I got an email from OU Nursing admission around noon today. Last year, I did not get into any campus (not even alternate) and all I got was letters in the mail.
