Drexel ACE 24 Fall 2014 (new program)
Hey bluebell2014, personally, if I were you I would go for the direct-entry masters program.. it's what 3 years? I also applied to Case Western University's direct-entry program and if accepted, I will most likely go there. It's up to you on what you want to get out of the nursing field. Personally, I think my ultimate goal is to practice as a nurse practitioner.. so getting into a direct-entry program that would enable me to be that will be my top pick. I haven't heard from Case yet, nor will I for at least another month, so I'm thrilled just to be accepted into something But.. congrats on being accepted to both!

Drexel ACE 24 Fall 2014 (new program)
Hey bluebell2014, thanks for the info! Did you receive the email he sent out tonight: 1. I was wondering what the class schedule would look like for this ACE 24 program. As in the frequency of class and what would be involved during the weekends? *Please see a sample curriculum attached. The 1st Quarter will feature two online courses, and one on campus course (Pathophysiology). This on campus course will be a two hour evening course, held on a weekday. After the first quarter, you will have a maximum of one online course, and 1-2 on campus courses per term (weekday evening courses). Clinicals will be held once per week during the weekend. Please note, as this is a pilot program, the attached curriculum is subject to change. 2. Are the weekend hours at night or during the day? Saturday and Sunday? Clinicals will be held one day a week during the weekend. Times and days may change depending on the hours available at each clinical site. 3. How does the cost compare with the 11 month? This program has the same tuition cost as ACE, only it is spread out over 24 months. 4. What would be the start and end dates of the program? The program will begin September 22, 2014 and end in September of 2016. 5. How are the online courses incorporated into the curriculum? In the first quarter, NURS 110 and 337 will be online. After that, up to one course per term will be online. Clinicals will not be available online. 6. How large is the class? More specifically, how many seats are available? The first cohort will have a maximum of 24 students enrolled. Students will be split into three sections of eight. Hope they figure out who they want before June because if I get in I will need to start looking for housing in Philly asap...I live out of state haha

Drexel ACE 24 Fall 2014 (new program)
Hi all, I have also been waitlisted for this fall and did reapply this spring. I received an email from Evan a couple of days ago and I am seriously considering this 24 option. They won't start reviewing apps until May? I did email Evan back stating that I was interested in having my application be reviewed for this program. Has he responded to anyone else who has emailed him back expressing their interest? Thanks!

low GPA- pursing second degree BSN-HELP!
Hi all, I could really use some advice from those who encountered a similar situation: My undergrad was a 2.5 cumulative GPA-not competitive at all in zoology. I discovered my passion for nursing later when I volunteered as a HIV intervention specialist at a Free medical clinic. Since then, I have taken A&P I & II, Micro, organic chem I, general psych, abnormal psych, statistics, pathophysiology, honors bio I, and now I am currently taking BIO 2, college physics I, and Organic chemistry II. I currently have a 4.0gpa in all of these courses from a community college. All I need left for a majority of schools is nutrition and developmental psych, which I plan on taking this summer. I have made considerable improvement, but I still believe that my undergrad gpa is preventing me from my passion. It isn't competitive enough for for most accelerated BSN programs. Can anyone offer me some advice about what to do?? Please? Or what programs I should highly consider applying to due to the way they view applicant profiles?? I will go anywhere. Thanks!!
