VA 72/80 schedule
One of the vague arguments that I’ve heard through the rumor mill is that we would still be getting paid our same annual salary, but hour hourly rate would go up because they would remove the extra 8 hour shift per pay period. Would working the 72 hours Impact anything else as far as leave accrual /holiday pay? I wonder if they would be more willing to go for it if we were able to show that it wouldn’t add any expenses. Thank you all for your input! It sure would be nice to find a VA that has accomplished this. We all should start a petition to get it changed and see if it has an impact!

Do they ever give the rationale behind it? I see it as an option in the handbook, but I’m just trying to figure out why the answer is always “no.”

VA 72/80 schedule
I realize that this is an old topic, but my unit is also wanting the 72/80 work schedule. Has anyone been able to successfully convert their unit to this schedule? If so, I would love to speak with you.

Butler CC Nursing Points, What were your points to get in?
That would be super cool! I have a strong feeling that you will get in. While I was waiting for the lady to tell me about my application, I could hear her talking to another girl about her score. She had a 148, and the lady told her that she probably wasn't going to get in right there on the spot. She suggested that the girl retake the TEAS and apply to get in in the spring. I felt kind of bad for her because there was a long line of people waiting outside of the office. I should have went to the end of the line so I could see what the competition was going to be like. Haha, I'm just glad that she said I had somewhat of a chance!

Hello jl15. I recently took the TEAS on May 2nd and afterwards the lady was going over everyone's scores. I have 158.7 points and she said the lowest score they took for the fall of 2013 was 157. I guess the scores are lower when trying to start in the spring because less people apply. You will probably get in with 162 points. She told me that if I don't get an acceptance letter within the first week of June, that I should be high up on waiting list to get in. Last year they were able to take 9 off of the waiting list, so it really just depends on how well everyone does, and how many people deny spots. Goodluck! I'm sure you will get in, and I hope to get in too! :)
