1. @mizruby. Congrats! Thanks for clarifying the sates. Just mailed in my acceptance agreement today :)
2. @sjones89 Thanks! wishing you the best also
3. I did receive a letter today - I was accepted to the accelerated program :) Hopefully those on standby will receive good news. I have to turn in my acceptance contract by November 7th. I will be accepting the spot at KSU which will open up a spot at Georgia State for someone. Wishing everyone good luck at KSU or wherever their future takes them
4. Nothing yet. Though I did receive an email about study abroad opportunities with the nursing department
5. I am hoping for mid-October also but that hasn't stopped me from hoping every time I approach the mailbox that today is the day :) I did receive an email about study abroad opportunities with the nursing department
6. I scored a 95 on my TEAS. I dont know what they calculated my GPA to be since I have a previous Bachelors degree...I have As in A&P, Chemistry, Math, Abnormal & developmental Psych, and I think a B in stats. I do have a few Cs on my transcript (French, Organic Chemistry) but since they are not required coursework, don't know if they used them to calculate my GPA. I am currently enrolled in Micro and the SNHP 3000 to finish up my pre-reqs At the information session I went to last year, they made it sound like it is very, very rare for them to accept a substitute course for SNHP 3000. It is offered in the summer - traditional as well as study abroad during Maymester, I believe they are going to Nicaragua. Good Luck on your TEAS!!!
7.

I applied and was accepted for the Fall 2014 ACE Program but am deferring enrollment until Spring 2015. My understanding is that all prerequisites must be completed before starting the program. I took PSYC 2013 Intro to Human Development online thru Georgia Perimeter; at the nursing school info session they said it is an acceptable substitute for NURS 2010. I would recommend contacting an advisor to check on what you need to be ready. I sat down with someone from the nursing school during open advising hours and and they were very helpful. Good Luck!

8. Thanks for sharing. I was hoping for earlier...so, 6 more weeks until mailbox stalking begins
9. Hello :) I applied for the Spring 2015 Accelerated program. anyone know when they are mailin gout letters?[h=1][/h]
10. Good question. The ACE track is 18 hours first semester, not sure about the traditional. You might want to send an email or give them a call....
11. Congrats meep!
12. sorry, thanks for fixing
13. congrats everyone!! I have already looked at the schedule as I need to arrange childcare. Class Mondays 8:30 to 3pm, Wednesdays 8:30 to 4:40pm, Thursdays 7am to 2pm. Plus clinicals. Sixela21 is right on, we are going to be working hard. But that's what we were hoping for, it will be so worth it in the end :)
14. I took API online and am currently taking AP2 online also, [moderator edit of name]. You do a lot of work for him, which I think gives you multiple opportunities to learn the material. You do Mastering online, case studies, the entire AP coloring book, interactive cd exercises, and study guide tests. ILab has to be done on campus - I had [moderator edit of name] for API lab and [moderator edit of name] for AP2 and highly recommend both. Good luck!
15. Congrats Paupow! meep - safe travels and try to keep calm, very difficult I know
16. Good news for waitlisted folks- I am going to decline my spot at GPC. I received my acceptance letter for GSU's accelerated program today and have made the decision to accept that spot. I have been attending GPC for my prereqs and though the program there has exceeded my expectations, I am going to go for an 18 month course of study. Good luck everyone! See ya when when working RNs :)
17. Congrats CB93 :) cracking open a celebratory drink and reading the packet tonight
18. received my letter in the mail today, I got in to the ACE program!!!! I am so excited and a bit in shock
19. no letter here yet either....hopefully soon, I can't wait to know what I am going to do with my life
20. I scored a 95.3 on the teas but don't know my gradepoint which makes me nervous. They will determine my program GPA from my previous degree, choosing classes to fit the pre-reqs for the ACE program, unfortunately I dont have all As. I was missing a few science classes/some too old so had to take some classes. I have been doing great in those - all As last semester in API+lab and Chem I+lab and am on track to have all As again this semester. At the information system I attended last year they shared the following acceptance formula: They give up to 12 points for grades (program GPA not overall) 4.0+-12 3.9-3.99-11 pts 3.8-3.89-10 pts 3.7-3.79-9 pts 3.6-3.69-8 pts 3.5-3.59-7 pts 3.4 -3.49 – 6 pts 3.3 – 3.39 – 5 pts Up to 10 points for TEAS 95+ - 10 pts 90-94 - 9 pts 80-89 - 8 pts 70-70 - 7 pts etc. Science GPA calculated by: 2 pts for every 'A' earned in a a science course, 1 point for every 'B'. Add up the points then divide by how many science classes taken. For example, if someone's grades are A&P1-A (2 pts), Chem1-A (2 pts), Micro-A (2 pts) = 2+2+2 = 6 pts. Then 6 pts (divided by) 3 courses taken = 2 pts Up to 1 pt for essay Up to 1 pt for each recommendation for a total of 2 points 1 point for being a current GSU student
21. Hi Meep :) congrats on your acceptances, thats great. Keep us updated if you hear anything from GSU
22. Hello :) I applied to GPC and just found out I was accepted - which is good news. If I don't get into the GSU ACE program, I'm not sure what I will do - maybe apply to Kennesaw and then GSU again, for Spring 2015 or enroll at GPC and then do RN to BSN while working. Is GSU your 1st choice?
23. Hi :) I applied for the Fall 2014 ACE program. Haven't been able to find activity on this site for GSU Fall 2014...lots for Fall 2013 and Spring 2014. Reading those posts and the timelines from application deadline to the first posts about receiving acceptance letters, looks like we could possibly hear something the first few weeks of April...but that's just extrapolating
24. Congrats to everyone with positive news! to those that are disappointed, I wish you well and encourage you to read the success stories of those that have overcome and succeeded after not being accepted. Life works out, just not always in the way we anticipate :)
