Hello all, I just wanted to share this information about a splendid program from Lehman College. Especially to those who was like me, having a hard time landing a job (or even an interview) after passing the NCLEX. The program works like an externship/residency, it places you at a participating hospital and unit of your choice to gain more clinical experiences. The program was free and came with a stipend when I participated last year. Some of the participants were hired at the hospital they were placed at. The program does not restrict you from searching for RN positions during participation, and if you get hire as an RN, you can withdraw from the program. Below is the link for more information. I'm really not sure, my interviewers were really nice. But some questions startled me and I think I started to babble. Arg... I don't know. I wonder how many interviewed with the unit... haha yes, praying for a good outcome.

Had my interview today, came out with no recollection of what and how I answered. Hoping for the best. Yeah, I agree that each applicant's info is forwarded to one hospital. Hmm, wish it was forwarded to all three choices increases my hope a bit that way. Anyways, for the time being good luck and keep me posted....!!!

I actually didn't get any contact from my first and second choice. I was wondering if anyone got calls/interview with more than one hospital? Well, tomorrow is the last day for interviews...So, the anxiety game continues... Good luck and keep me posted... =)

Now that I think about it, I was so focused on Bellevue, cause that was my first choice, I forgot we were given the option to rank our top 3 hospitals of interest. eamjao: Aside from Bellevue, did other hospitals contact you? damitzKBEE: Thanks.

Hey, Nope, basically asked if I'm an applicant for the Lehman College RN Transition program and when I answered "yes" she just asked if I'm able to go in to an interview on Friday. And that was the whole phone call...

Yes, I received a call from Beth Israel today as well. I didn't have a phone interview but was told to go in this Friday. How was your phone interview if you don't mind me asking....

Yes, you guys are right... taking things step by step. Next week is the final week for interviews, hopefully we'll hear something in the beginning of the week. Keep me posted...

Lehman College updated the timeline for the program. You can find updated info on their site: Lehman College - Continuing Education - Health Information Management Same here with the email, at first I constantly kept my phone at close range, but when I saw that eamjao got notification via email I started with the email. I don't think it would affect your trip, seems like they keep pushing back the start date of this program. When I checked yesterday it was suppose to start by the end of this month now it going to start mid June. Because I did externship at Bellevue, they still email me about certain events. And it was due to them that I found out about this program. What about you?

I think they extended the interviews till the 9th of May, but haven't heard from any hospitals yet. I've been checking my emails hoping to see something but nothing. well hopefully we can all start the program together. keep me posted...

Hi, I applied to the program as well, but during their extension date (April 18). Aside from the 2 emails from Lehman College, I haven't heard from any hospitals. Hope to hear from Bellevue soon, since I did my externship there... Good luck!!!

Honestly its a great opportunity. Finding a job in the city is impossible unless you have some powerful connection, if anything move there for one yr for the experience. Beside I think a lot of people are relocation as long as they have a job offer so I'm sure you'll make friends in no time. Best of luck!

There is no nursing shortage, if only I have researched this before going into nursing. I have graduated and its been a yr and still unemployed. If nursing shortage mean having 200 applicants applying for 1 position than I guess there is a nursing shortage.

I attended LIU, no personal statements required. Had to take a HESI entrance exam, which is super easy if you get and study from their recommended book. Getting in was easy but going through with the program is another story. Best of luck!
