  1. IIRC, there was no mailed packet from Chandler Gilbert. They emailed it several months ahead of time, so you could get your immunizations and such done. White or black shoes. A stethoscope. Unless you can find textbooks with the access codes still attached, don't bother with used books. You either have to buy the complete ebook package for $420ish or you can buy the ebooks+hardbacks for $720ish. Starscape is "required" but no one has used it. You can use an app called epocrates for free (and what GCU uses). Any and all NCLEX study books are useful. There is also a drug guide by Mosby specifically for Nursing Students that says things in plainer english, I highly recommend it. A few editions behind is fine. If you have tattoos, plan to cover them. Get a Student ID from security if you don't already have one. Be prepared to study. A lot. Make study groups, argue over whose answer is right, teach each other. Pharmacology is essentially self taught. Oh! I forgot to mention that Fridays are dubbed Virtual Fridays. They're expecting you to spend 8 hours that day on pharmacology. Whether or not it's actually 8 hours is up to you. Figure out a study method that works and start the first day. One of those roll suitcase things may be needed. I'm still holding out though! Also if you work, try and figure out how not to. I know that sounds silly, but countless fellow students have quit or severely lowered their hours. I'm hanging on to 10 hours a week by the skin of my teeth. Good luck! You got this!
  2. Week 9 or 10, depending on the site and schedule.
  3. The current Block 1 schedule is Monday (8:30 to 3), Wednesday (8:30 - 3), Thursday (8:30 -1). You are also required to put in 2 additional hours of lab time a week. The lab is open from 5:30 - 7:30 on Monday and Wednesday evenings. My clinical schedule is Sundays 6:30 - 6:30, and a few Tuesdays. To select clinical sites, we drew numbers and then selected what we wanted. There were 5 different schedules and 4 different locations. It's hard to say what they will be like next semester because it all depends on the clinical locations. Once clinicals start, you no longer go Monday and Wednesday (or lab hours), and you'll go to class on Thursday for lecture.
  4. My college had a letter that the provider signed off on. It included a couple pages of exactly what the college was looking for (sound mental health, able to stand for long periods, etc) but it did not include any Personal Health Information. I would definitely ask if there is something else you could submit.
  5. I'm dumb. I don't have 330 until July, but I did start 321 today. Thankfully there was FINALLY something showing up in my BB.
  6. Does anyone have access to their NUR321 class in Blackboard? It starts Monday, right? Usually by now we can at least see that we have classes coming up, and access the syllabus and such. Should I contact someone, or stop being a Nervous Nellie?
  7. Oh okay! Here I am freaking out about nothing then. Haven't heard a word from CGCC. Have you already turned in your registration packet and all the required paperwork? I haven't, and won't til later this summer because of CPR and the TB test.
  8. Okay, I went ahead and did the admissions for CGCC. I didn't want to do it again, since I was still technically admitted. Now how do I know which classes I need to enroll for?
  9. So I was just looking at my Maricopa Student Center, and there's nothing listed at all. It even says "To apply for admissions to a Maricopa Community College, click on the MCCCD Admissions link below. Once the application is submitted you can enroll for classes." at the top. Until now I figured it's just cause things were still processing. Are you guys actually able to enroll for classes and whatnot? Now I'm really nervous.
  10. The email was from NAU, in my NAU email account. Maricopa won't be handling any of our financial aid. Sorry for the confusion. :/
  11. I think that's what my plan is going to be too. Use it to pay for everything I need this summer and save what's left to help with the Maricopa class payments in the Fall and books and whatnot.
  12. It was mailed. Like a credit card with a barcode and a security seal. Sounds like getting two was just a mix up.
  13. Oh hey, I just got NAU financial aid notice, too. Go check it out ladies.
  14. Did anyone else get two copies of their background check card? I paid extra to get one, but now I feel silly because maybe it was included in the Maricopa package?
  15. Louie still says completed and there's no info on financial aid. :/
  16. I'm in San Tan Valley, so I feel you both. If it was more than once a week I would seriously think about staying with friends or a hotel room.
  17. Awesome! I'll be there bright-eyed and bushy tailed... Well, okay, maybe not but close! I have Fast Track as well. Oh my gosh, this is all so exciting after such a long road. I saw a lady at my local grocery store wearing the Maricopa scrubs, with a NAU patch on her sleeve today. I wanted to say something, but I probably would have come off like a giant goober, so I didn't. That'll be us soon!
  18. I got mine!!! Yay! So exciting. I have NUR330 on Tuesdays, anyone else?
  19. I need Varicella, Hep B, Tetorifice, and the TB test, I figured I would also get Hep A while I'm already getting these. I was going to wait on the TB test and CPR recertification until around the end of May, for the reason Dylansmomm mentioned. My background check is done, so just waiting on TB and CPR really. Thanks for that PDF ScrubGirl, I hadn't received a copy of that! :)
  20. And I didn't get anything about a nurse pack. Just a stethoscope of choice, a handheld smart device and all the required books. I was wondering about that. Maybe we get more info once we submit our required documents? Hopefully anyway. Speaking of documents, am I the only one who needs a bunch of immunizations?
  21. I just looked back over the CGCC info and I actually don't see anything about shoes, unless I missed it. The dress code sheet is basically that we need the Caribbean Blue scrubs with the college embroidered on it. The other colleges must have different requirements, I'm guessing?
  22. Hey AZGal! We've all pretty much been in your shoes, what a mess huh? There's a couple things that stuck out to me. We're all technically waiting to start our CEP program, so we really don't have a whole lot of specifics. More than happy to help, though! I didn't need a college chemistry class. I used my high school transcripts to meet that requirement. Maybe you can see if that will work for you. Also, if you have a Bachelors (and Master's?) I find it hard to believe that you need all these extra requirements. BIO 202 and 205 are required to be placed on the Maricopa waiting list, but HCR and PSY are for the CEP program. With the CEP program, depending on which college, you need an AGEC degree OR the other requirements, not both. You have probably already met that with all your previous schooling. As far as scheduling for the CEP classes, I know NAU has 2 or 3 in person classes. All the rest are online. Having worked for UoP, I know all of their classes are online as well. I think the only way they can get the CEP program to run smoothly is by offering all the Bachelor’s level classes mostly online, because clinical scheduling can get kinda messy. NAU has one class during the first summer semester that meets for 4 mondays (or 4 tuesdays if you choose) so it's not even really a full in person class. My nursing counselor, who I still have to deal with, has cost me at least 2 years in this whole nursing process. If she had had her facts straight or had attempted to be helpful at all, I'd be almost graduated with my BSN by now. I whole heartedly recommend you get second opinions, or ask around in the AZ forums here. With the nursing blocks, you can do whatever there is room for. Being accepted into the CEP program means you are gauranteed to start the Maricopa Nursing Program, regardless of where you on on the waiting list. As long as there are open spots for the program you want (Nights, weekends, fast track, etc) at the college you want, you should be able to get it. Everyone in the CEP program is part of CEP, obviously, but it breaks down from there. There's ASU, NAU and UoP. On top of that, there's each of the Maricopa CCs: GCC, Gateway, Mesa, etc. And then there are individual programs within those CCs, like I mentioned above. I'll probably never meet any of the other students in this thread because we all end up scattered everywhere. We are not seperated out from the traditional nursing students though. Some cohorts are all CEP students, some only have a few, just depends on who was accepted into the CEP program for that semester for that college. I fear I probably just confused you more.
  23. I got my welcome email from CGCC! Yay!
  24. I haven't received anything from CGCC yet. I did get a fancy packet in the mail from NAU though.
