Any Winnie Palmer Nurses??
$26.55 isn't bad that's only about $4 less an hour than what I am making now and with FL being tax free that's not so bad. Do you have your BSN? I live in MN so I hear you about the frigid cold! It gets so old. Please let me know how it goes and what they offer you. Good luck!!

Georgia Nursing Pay: looking at Savannah, GA
That's so funny you mention that! My husbands cousin and her husband just built a house specifically in Richmond Hill to be part of that school district. They initially had their daughter in private but have since had another and couldn't do 2 kids in private. I am mainly interested in the children's hospitals in the Atlanta area but I loved Savannah when I was there it was really beautiful!

Atlanta, Georgia Nurses
Thanks for the reply! My Mother in Law is from Savannah and although they are in NY state right now (they moved for better schools for their sons) they are retiring in Milledgeville, GA so of course they want us to move to Georgia. We are looking into private schools but I don't think we could afford it. Especially considering I will be taking a 6-8 dollar an hour pay cut in Georgia. Ahhh decisions decisions

Atlanta, Georgia Nurses
Hi guys! So really random question but do you like Atlanta? Especially for those of you who have relocated? I live in MN and my hubby and I have looked into FL and GA as possibilities. I was only in Atlanta once and it was overwhelming as I come from a smaller town type area. I have 1.5 years experience in level 3 NICU and a BSN. He works for the railroad. I am most worried about schools for kids as we are due with our first end of May and I know GA schools are considered to be pretty bad. Just looking for a general over all idea of what you think of the area!

Georgia Nursing Pay: looking at Savannah, GA
That's not too bad! I would do that considering how insanely affordable housing is down there. My biggest issue is the schools. I am due end of May with our 1st and I know GA schools aren't wonderful. I wish we could afford private!

Salary for experienced nurse
My husband's union is on a federal level not state so in all 50 states. He should be fine no matter where we go it's just me that will take the big cut. His friend that just transferred is making the same in Mississippi as he is in MN because their union is everywhere. But yes Jacksonville has the only CSX jobs. Of course we would never move unless we both had job offers but just checking into our options

Salary for experienced nurse
Do you like Florida? I am a NICU nurse in MN and looking for a change but NICU nurses here make $31 an hour starting out so it's frustrating seeing how much Florida nurses make. But we are ready for a change and willing to take a pay cut if it was somewhere we loved. My husband works for the railroad and most of his work is outdoors so MN is just too cold.

Any Winnie Palmer Nurses??
Anyone know what Winnie Palmer pays? I am a NICU nurse in MN with my BSN from a private college and 2 years of NICU experience. We have looked at moving but I know Florida pays crap compared to MN (we start out at $31/hr). We are sick of MN and looking for a change and want to try Florida but swallowing the pay cut will be hard. Just curious what you all think? I know a lot of northerners look to transplant down south and then hate it. I guess if we didn't like it we could come back.

Georgia Nursing Pay: looking at Savannah, GA
Oh with all of that I would hope they pay you extra. If you have those degrees and certifications they really should! The hospital I work for only pays their BSN nurses an extra $0.50 an hour versus their two year nurses from what I understand. Although the ICU's aren't hiring 2 year nurses anymore they just grandfathered in the ones they had. We do have one nurse with an MSN but I haven't asked her if she is paid more. I will have to see:) Good luck with your job search! I was in Savannah last January and loved it. It's gorgeous.

Georgia Nursing Pay: looking at Savannah, GA
I have my 4 year BSN from a private college so that may help but I definitely wouldn't take a job anywhere for less than $25 an hour with benefits and good shift differential no matter where we went. We have kind of refocused on Florida because the schools in Georgia are just not very good. Who knows it may still be considered but we won't be moving for another 18 months so we have time to decide!

Georgia Nursing Pay: looking at Savannah, GA
Yeah I looked at indeed.com but I don't think that it's very accurate because I looked at Florida RN nursing jobs and it said that Florida nurses made more yearly than MN nurses yet when I contacted a recruiter from a children's hospital in the city I was looking at she said starting was only $24.95/hour for the NICU job I was looking at with 2 years ICU experience. Yet the hospital I work at here starts people out at $31/hour. It didn't add up.

Georgia Nursing Pay: looking at Savannah, GA
Hello everyone, My husband and I are looking to move out of MN. My husbands job is mostly outdoors and these harsh winters are really getting old. I have my 4 year BSN from a private college and have been working for 7 months as an RN in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I can't seem to find any hospitals that list their pay scales. By the time we moved I would have 2 years experience since we know it would be another year and a half before we could go. I want to stay in NICU and am looking at Memorial Health in Savannah. My problem is in MN we are unionized and my job started at over $30/hour not including shift or weekend differentials and from what I am seeing online Georgia nurses get paid way below that. Does anyone know what an experienced ICU nurse with a BSN might get paid. After seeing how poorly nurses in Georgia are paid I am considering not even applying to anything down there. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated! Thanks!
