I'm surprised that this thread is still so quiet! The threads from past cohorts usually got pretty busy around the time if acceptances. Hmm. maybe a lot of the accepted people won't choose UR, leaving space for those of us on the WL ;P

rsharif- they give you a phone call to let you know you're accepted! I think they did their phone calls last week (not sure if they're still doing them). Everyone gets a letter in the mail, but they don't call if you're wait listed or didn't get in. I found out that I am on the WL because I called the office last week to find out my status.

Congrats you guys!!!!! :) does anyone know how many spots the wait list has moved? I called the counselor but only got her voicemail and I'm really curious to know! Thanks :)

Hey everyone! I wonder if this is the week we'll find out admission decisions! I looked through last year's thread and it seems like they started finding out on the 28th. (Although they didn't find out until a few days later in June two years ago.) But I hope we all hear some good news soon :) The wait is killing me!

And to add on to the pros/cons of SMU, I think a lot of what we hear could also be based on the different campuses. Maybe a campus has "better" professors that people feel teach well and vice versa, etc.

Haha looks like I got too excited and happened to ask the night before they sent out the next batch of e-mails. I got the e-mail today too!

joe84u2004 - From what I saw, they stated in multiple places that you only need to send them the official college transcripts once you are accepted. The only official transcript needed along with the application was the ATI TEAS one. So don't be too worried :) Anyone else receive an e-mail that their application has been sent along to the nursing department? I haven't yet, and their timeline states it in April, but apparently some people have already received that notification? Hm.

agnomie: Thanks for those tips! :) I don't want to overstep and ask too much, but I'm just curious about one thing-- did you feel like it was pretty casual, like how many people were saying in previous cohorts' threads? Or did it feel more like an official/professional interview? I'm pretty nervous for mine but don't want to stress myself out too much trying to prepare for it! :3

I agree..I had such a hard time cutting out parts to make it 300. T_T haha I think in the past few years it's been the same though...I know on the old paper application they used to use, it says (1-2 pages) instead of a numerical value. The advisor also used the 1-2 page instructions in an info session I attended in Summer 2013. (300 words double spaced is just about exactly one page, at least that's how it turned out for all of mine)

I stayed within the limit as well. I was stressing out over just a few extra words and I was definitely on a cutting rampage hahaha. But I'm not sure how much it really matters in the end.. I saw someone's samples from two cohorts ago, and she had written 600+ words for EACH prompt! And she was accepted, but she also had tons of experience that she wrote about. So I think in the end what's important is as long as you are able to get your points across clearly.

If you had to take 2 classes to fulfill the 6 quarter/5(?) semester credits for chem, then yes you do count both into the science gpa. :) sunshine- I agree! Trying not to let stats alone psyche me out! It was a bit of pressure to make sure our writing samples stood out though, since they don't do interviews

agnomie- Thanks for the details! I'm also from CA! :0 I submitted my online app on 2/27 and mailed them on 2/25...same time as you, yikes! But I did it by regular mail...now that I think of it, I should have just spent the extra few dollars and gotten tracking for it...hah silly me. Hopefully it didn't get damaged by the weather trekking across the country! Haha. But anyway, good luck on your interview! Hope it goes well. :) From reading older threads, most people said that the interview seemed relatively casual and relaxed!

So nervous :3 I haven't gotten any calls for an interview yet but hopefully it's just because they haven't received my transcripts/recommendations in the mail yet (though it should be sometime this week!) agnomie- when is your interview and will it be in person or via phone? congrats on getting to the interview stage, btw :)

Hello! I applied too and I'm so nervous! The tentative timeline says that decisions will be released May 9th...seems soon yet so far away. Haha I'm really wondering how big the application pool will be since there's only one campus for Fall... Ahh. Science: 3.6 ; Last 60: 3.2 (low ) ; TEAS overall: 95.3% Thanks for starting this thread, btw! :)
