mom went to jail child was transferred to a pediatric hospital. And I feel as if I saved the childs life. The child also was found to have a broken arm.

I was working last night and had a 5 year old brought in by ems her mom is a known drug seeker. I spend time with the child to do exam, and she states her mom locks her in her room,for hours at a time and doesn't feed her. she only eats when she eats at school. So I call child sevices the local pd. I give the patient food and her meds,etc. and child services and the police show up and the mom gets in my face cursing me out. I just did my job. I had to vent.

I HAVE A MALE THAT COMES IN STATES HE HAS CROHNS DISEASES AND FREQUENT KIDNEY STONES,PUTS ON A SHOW. I ordered him Demerol 50 mg IM with Phenergan he tells the nurse dilaudid is the only thing that works. I tell him there is no chance in ****,he is getting the dilaudid. he slaps me. I order 4 point restraints. and call security and then run his name in the state narcotics registry he has HAD 8 narcotic prescriptions written in the last 48 hours by 8 ER docs. I called the police he was arrested for dr. shopping. people like this just ****** me off. sorry had to vent.

i am unsure why narcotics cause rebound pain but my hospital gives decadron or Solu-Medrol and have ever heard any report of rebound when the steroids are given with the narcs

I will tell her to talk with her pain management doctor and I will call the clinic as it is in the facility I don't mid seeing her but it's just crazy every Tuesday. Thank you so much

is toradol effective? every body I order it for never seems to find relief. they always want more meds.

I find just going to the chapel or prayer to help but as I am religious im sorry for all your issues.

I agree but she comes in after the injections due to breakthrough pain. I am wondering if I should refer her to someone else I wrote her an rx for diclofenac to help with her pain and she seemed satisfied maybe it will help. but I will most likely see her next Tuesday back in the er. she also only comes on the days I work

the patient goes to pain management weekly for epidural injections. pt. refuses narcotics as pt. does not want to get addicted.

I have a pt.who comes in for shot of toradol in every week for chronic back pain, the pt. is in obvios distress, never once has asked for narcotics,however our chief resident has told us to stop giving her the toradol, we do not treat chronic pain. I don't care what he says I will order pain meds for anyone that needs them especially toradol. im just venting

propofol must be pushed by provider in most facilities due to serious side effects. same with ketamine

I myself have seen that show and to post #3 I am well of aware of pica and it is a eating disorder. It is crazy some of the stuff people eat. I agree they are nuts.
