  1. It's very simple if you want a position in a hospital that requires a nicotine test than you take the test. A lot of these board turn into that debate with that topic, but the hospital in our area that requires it is a magnet hospital and a lot of people want a position there. So it's really not a matter of what we are willing to accept because if we don't accept their policy they will hire the next nurse that will.
  2. Nicotine and cotinine free after 2 weeks. Pack a day smoker Drank water Took vitamin c Tested negative
  3. Our uniforms are sooo bad! They are these denim button down shirts and the old style navy blue straight leg pants. Oh and don't forget the white blazer lab coat! Our uniforms are so ugly and expensive that we all leave them in a box after our senior year so incoming freshman that can grab a shirt or lab coat.
  4. Anyone else with results to share?
  5. Thanks Billy! This is exactly what I was looking for! You always see threads of people that are asking but never anyone that states they passed or failed. So this question comes up with uncertain answers a lot. When my friend takes her test I'll post her results too!
  6. Per hospitals in our area. All smoke free and smoke products that contain nicotine. However, nobody can give a testament of time for how long they had to quit to pass. Let me clarify ... Just because they are quitting to pass a test doesn't mean they are going to start back up. So anyone that was a smoker and quit to take one of these tests. Information would be helpful.
  7. I actually quit smoking. However this conversation has come up numerous times between my friends and I. It seems everyone has only had an assumption of time. Recently this came up because my friend is applying for a position with pre employment nicotine screening. She has been smoke free for five days now.
  8. Has any smoker had to take a nicotine/cotinine test for pre employment? If yes please post how much you smoked, body size, how long you quit before the test, and if you passed or not. There have been lots of questions and not to much follow up for answers. Since a lot of hospitals are making nicotine test a part of the job screening process... this can be helpful. thank you!
