  1. hi newbiern200, First, you can't bring your parents as soon as you think.. you can file a petition for your parents as soon a you become a citizen.. and that's about 5 yrs from the time you migrated. this is what the law are saying. secondly, about getting married after you migrated,, think about this.. it is better for you to marry, before an employer petition's you. because if you marry and you are already an immigrant , it will take 3-4 years before you can bring your husband to the US. so if you really love your BF. marry him before any paper works done.. because it will make him included in the employer's petition and be happy together fly to the US.. and besides it's still RETROGRESSION.. no AVAILABLE VISA YET FOR NURSES. this is just an advice.. take it or leave it. good luck!!
  2. I think you misundrestood the article.. pls read it well, you are confusing us. you can only apply for citizenship after five years of being an immigrant. continous residency and physical presence has a different meaning. continous residency involves the no. of days you had outside the US in a single trip. AND physical presence involves the no. of days outside the US for the entire trip you had in five years. so must meet both physical and continous residency requirements to obtain naturalization.

  8. nurse dependent: its really so true to say... its god's will... the delay... just like what happened to us... but god has a plan for all of us...look at us now... we are here COMPLETE...and enjoying what he provided us... god is good... patience is a virtue... trust him and he shall provide... GOD BLESS US ALL!!!
  9. hi dhel, im sorry to hear about what happened to you here in the US. im just wondering why some agencies back there in the phil are so rude.... but its not true to some of the fil- nurse and some agencies... as for us here... we are all doing fine... my wife is assigened in the medical ICU. and the staff are all great... the hospital gave us a three month housing for free and its all fully furnished... they also gave us relocation allowance and a signing bonus... so we it was a big help for us starters... and we passed through an agency there in the phil... my advice to all nurses... read your contract well and the hospital you are going to... and pass first all the the exams needed... so far i like it here... maybe its not as big as california... but it is worth living here... people are nice...and peaceful.... settle for a smaller city and im sure your going to have great life here in the US... TO DHEL... just finished your contract... take it easy and move on... God bless you...

  13. hi suzanne, im still waiting for my visa. i completed additional requirments. july 12. the consul asked for old pictures w my two children...but i was told to pay for the courier. im still waiting for the visa delivered. what do you think the reasons of delay of visa? my friends got theirs after 3 days. thanks
  14. i was petitioned by my employer dec of 2003 and they sent my papers to the nvc just this year. my case was approved late last year. im not quite sure of the date. regarding my interview, it went fine not to mention my 3 very active children ages 3, 4, and 2 months old. the two toddler were actively playing in the embassy and it was really very tiring to watch them not to break anything. in other words it was very stressful. my newly born child was also given a visa... i suppose. since i also paid for her courier... it was really a very fulfilling day for all of us.. and really prayers and perseverance works!!! good luck to everyone!!!
  15. thanks suzanne. im just wondering the consular officer didint say.. your application is approved.. he just told us to go to other window and pay for the courrier... just asking...
