A&P I: Fall '05 Anatomy & Physiology Club
I took A&P I&II this summer...and if I can do that, then you guys should definitely be able to do it over the regular semester. We were havin to cover a chapter everyday, then have a quiz over it the next day, then have a test every Friday on Mon.-Thurs. chapters and nothing was cut out! It is a lot of info., but just relax and take it one day at a time. Flash cards were my best friend! I also kept looking at the ultimate goal, that "hey, it's hard now, but this will get me into nursing school and it will all be worth it." I wish you guys the best of luck! :wink2:

A&P Labs
I took both A&P I&II this summer, and talk about feeling overwhelmed ! As long as you make up your mind to set aside a reasonable amount of time to study, you should do fine. I'm not a parent so I can imagine it makes it more difficult to take a class, especially this one and do well in it. I'm sure you'll be fine. I had people in my class this summer who were married with children and they all did very well. All of our lectures were on power point so I would print them off in note form, then go home and make flash cards of everything I thought was important. My teacher also gave a brief study guide before the tests so we would know what to expect. If you can, ask your professor for a study guide too. They are beneficial. As for the dissections, we had cats and one cadaver to work on. I LOVE cats myself, so it was hard at first, but I guess I got used to it. We did have a girl in class pass out the first time the cadaver was brought out. She said it was more from the smell (formaldehyde) than actually seeing it. By the end of class she was fine. I hope this helps a little and I wish you the best of luck! I want to be a L&D nurse too! :)

A&P Labs
In our labs we dissected sheep brains and cats. We also had a cadaver which really helped when it came to learning the different systems. We covered the histology of almost every tissue in the body. If your lab manual comes with a "histology atlas", i would definitely get familiar with the pictures in it, but of course what u need to know will depend on your instructor.

Another A&P Question
I just finished taking A&P I and II last week, and my instructor spent a decent amount of time going over the chemistry. However, our classes were 4 weeks long each, so we did cover a chapter a day and chemistry was one chapter. He did tell us that we should have already had chemistry either college level or high school, so the chapter shouldn't be too hard. It really wasn't that bad because it was basic chemistry;we didn't go into much detail since it wasn't chemistry class..Hope this helps & good luck with your class!

A&P I: The Summer '05 Anatomy and Physiology Club
I am also taking this class this summer! My class is using the 6th ed. of Martini's textbook and the 8th ed. of Marieb's lab book. I just got finished with A&P I finally! I started A&P II yesterday. I know it's tough and it's hard doing it in the summer but it's worth it and everyone can do it!! I just remind myself that I'd rather do it all in a total of 8 weeks than two regular semesters of it! What really helps me get through is after every lecture, I come home and make flash cards of everything! Just keep positive and remember it's going to be worth it in the end! If God brings you to it, he'll bring you through it!
