  1. All these replies are eerily similar to what doctors complain about on their forums. You know CRNA and NPs are given too much autonomy or when a DNP refers to him or herself as doctor.
  2. Well were you? Just kidding, can they really fire you over one docs complaint? Unless there is something you are not telling us.
  3. Hello all just a question for you. Does CRNA school prepare you to be a competent CRNA? You know like hit the ground running? Or is like nursing school where you only learn the basics and you feel like a total idiot as a new grad. I'm a new grad in a neuro ICU and I feel like I have a few years to go before I can call myself a competent and exceptional nurse, is it like that? Tell me how you well you were able to perform your job duties as a new grad CRNA.
  4. Have you ever been denied by a patient simply because of the fact that you are a nurse and not a doctor? How do you introduced yourself to your patient? I've heard CRNAs introduce themselves as their anesthesia provider rather than nurse anesthetist simply for that reason. I'm curious to hear from CRNAs. Thanks
  5. Not close at all. I just graduated and was fortunate to find a job in an icu at a large hospital. I'm hoping to get the experience I need and start applying to schools. I have a wife and 10 month old daughter. I already know that moving to another state is always a possibility since there is only one school in AZ with a crna program.
  6. I've heard that it is really difficult to find a job in Arizona as a CRNA currently. Can anyone attest to that?
  7. I went from cpht to RN. I graduated May this year and was fortunate enough to find a position in the neuro icu thanks to the help of a friend. I did not go through a pharmacy tech program as it is not required to become certified. As a previous poster had mentioned working as a pharmacy tech at least in a retail or hospital setting will help you become familiar with medications which is a big plus for nursing school. I recommend you try to find a job in the hospital as a pharmacy tech that way you have a secure position there as an RN because it sure as hell is not easy finding one without experience.
  8. Too many women on this board, too many women at work. I didn't ask for this... Actually I did but seriously the pointless banter on these forums are getting old.
  9. One word.. Knowledge Nursing is not all about skills you know. Assessment is what sets LPN from RN.
