  1. Every single day since February 2014 I have applied for a nursing job. I have tried everything I can think of including just showing up at a facility and asking for the DNS. I applied online to a certain place, signed up for their talent network (that emailed me saying I was a match), and yes they accept new grads but nothing. What is it?! Who will say yes?! When will it happen?! I feel like I'm starting to forget my training( which is probably all in my head), but that's how I feel. I'm exhausted reading all the letter and emails of regret, but at this point in my life I just need a YES! I have been a CNA for 20 years and my body doesn't bounce back as fast as it did, but looks like that's the route I have to go just for some steady income.
  2. Thank you SWM2009! Sadly I've been doing a combination of online, walk ins, and nursing job fairs, but nothing yet. I guess what I should have maybe asked is.... how long did it take for others to find their first job? Is this normal? Again thanks for wishing me the best!
  3. Ok so I'm just curious..... Where am I supposed to get the 1 to 2 years experience that employers are asking for??!! It's so discouraging and some of the job postings will tell you straight out NEW GRADS NEED NOT APPLY! I must have applied to over 50 facilities and organizations, but still nothing. I have a background in patient care, worked as a cna since 1994, graduated top of my class with high honors, received all kinds of awards, letters of recommendations, references from clinical/classroom instructors. I'm terrified that I won't find anything after working so hard to get through the program! Please any advice would be helpful. Maybe someone has had a similar experience and can shed some light.
  4. Thank you SandandSandwiches! This was an awesome post! I am a new nurse and haven't found my first job yet, however this is great insight for when I do find work. Your an inspiration:up:! I wish you well keep up the great work!
