  1. I have been working in patient care for almost 4 years now. I am an athiest and have recieved employee of the month, a role model employee award, and am consistently asked for in my work setting because of my compassionate mentality. Being an athiest has nothing to do with being a good or bad nurse. I do not bring my beliefs into the workplace, and if an individual finds comfort in God then so be it. It is none of our business, and our only job is to look after the well being of our patients. Period.
  2. Yes there are both. Just search "rush gem" and pick appropriate cohort.
  3. I did get accepted for the May start date, but have decided to go to Rush in Chicago instead. Marquette has an amazing (nationally ranked) nursing program, but my interview and tour at Rush won me over. Cheers to whoever is on the wait list that gets my spot! Congratulations everyone.

  5. Okay I started one for Cohort 14. Just search for "Rush GEM Cohort 14"
  6. Does anyone know our cohort #? (Fall 2014)
  7. Thinking of starting a Facebook page for our cohort, as a means of fast communication
  8. Chin up! Remember what the panel at first look said, you may have to wait a bit but they didn't say no!
  9. I GOT IN! YAHOO!
  10. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
  11. Not going to lie... I'm pretty jacked.
  12. Hahaha.... Good lord. Idk about that one.
  13. Thanks everyone, I'm not worried about the loans. If accepted remember you're at a minimum getting a masters in nursing (with cnl) from one of the top nursing schools in the country. I'm just anxiously waiting for march 5th to roll around. I feel like I was a competitive applicant and my interview went very well so I'm not too worried about it. I was lucky enough to work in healthcare and have a bachelors in bio / chemistry before making a final decision to get into nursing, so I feel like I'm in a good place to succeed in this program. I'm from Wisconsin (Green Bay) but currently live and work in Phoenix. I flew in for my interview and first look, and was very impressed with what I saw. Like most of you, Rush is my first choice.
  14. I applied, still waiting to hear back. I have a friend who is in it and she said she didn't find out until late February.

  16. Figure I would start it. Had my interview yesterday and will be at first look today. Looking forward to seeing / meeting everyone. I feel my interview went very well. Anyone else have thoughts on interview? Also interested in how many males (besides me) this program attracts... Not that it matters in the slightest, but was told yesterday that there are as few as six (?) In the last cohort.
