Thanks everyone for your responses. I had previously notified the manager when he first asked me to start doing this and she said it was fine for me to write it down for him as long as he was ultimately documenting in on the chart.. For a few weeks after that it did not cross my mind to go back to the chart and review them to see if he had documented it because why would you not trust the MD that you work with on his word.. If he said he was going to chart it, I believed him he would.. Ultimately to find out he was not doing so. So now not only have I realized that he is not to be trusted on his word, but that my "nursing judgement" really failed me when I followed his orders without questioning.This is one of the first things they teach us in school. I am very disappointed and frustrated with myself at this moment.

I am a new LVN with less than 6 months of experience. Recently I got caught up in a situation with a MD who asked me not to chart the patient's blood pressure if it was above 140/90. He said something along the line of "If it is above 140/90 just write in on a sticky note and not on the chart, I will document it after talking to them about it during the visit". My inexperienced and trusting brain agreed to this. Just last week I thought about reviewing the after visit note just to see what the MD was documenting, if his readings were too different from mine only to find out that he had not been documenting anything at all. Now I am freaking out and needing advise on ways that I can address this respectfully with the MD seeming this is technically omitting information from the patient's chart, and eventually I know that my license would be only one in jeopardy... Would it be a good idea to talk to him about it first or consult the nurse manager? How should I bring it up in a way that it does not seem like I am questioning his decision, or that I am doubting that he is charting it? Please advise, I would appreciate any words of wisdom

I am not sure on the exact number however I can tell you that I applied May 2014, and I am still waiting to get in hopefully this Fall. With all the new testing changes, that might not happen. They did say though that they would be accepting a bigger class.

Karbear512, Do you know if we are going to need to take the TEAS since we already turned in our applications prior to the changes? Someone from the school I spoke with on the phone said no, but someone else from the health sciences department said yes we would have to take it. Have you heard anything?

Nope, so far just me and you. I am bummed out though, I just found out they are going to make us take the TEAS V test and rank our admissions based on a ranking system just like the ADN program. The problem is I've been waiting for almost a year already, and it might be longer now. It has been a long time since I've taken any science courses, not to mention I have to buy a whole new study guide. I had already purchased a HESI study guide. Soooo frustating!!! This school needs to get their stuff together and quit making random changes like that!!!!

Hi, I applied about 2 weeks before you did, and I called the school this week and they told me I am on track for Fall of 2015 as well. Seems like a long time to wait for the LVN program, but I guess we will be classmates :)

Hello everyone, I need a little advice regarding school. I've been waiting a long time to get into a nursing program but it has not happened yet. I've gone to the point of applying to local LVN programs. The local RN programs have long waitlists and some I might not even get accepted because my GPA is not high enough. The question is If I get accepted to the LVN program first, should I go for it, or keep waiting for the RN. Currently I am a CNA at a local hospital, and I love it, however I cannot wait to have a title behind my name. Any advice is welcomed.

Congratulations to all of you who go accepted for the ADN 2014. I am planning to apply for the ADN 2015 and I was wondering if you guys could share some of your stats I am kind of nervous my gpa will not be good enough. Does temple college have a waiting list? or do they just make you re-apply next year if you don't get in the first time? Thanks
