  1. Thank you so much Blink75. I really appreciate it!
  2. Hi, I know this is an older post, but I am an RN trained in Canada with no experience. I am licensed in Minnesota, but have no desire to work there. I have applied for the Florida license, but can't be issued one until I have a job offer and get a social security number. I have spoken to a recruiter at Punta Gorda who said he was very interested, but haven't heard from the unit director...very frustrating...I've also considered internship programs/new grad programs, but have been told by recruiters that they often aren't paid positions while being trained and a job isn't guaranteed at the end, which doesn't work for me as I would be moving to take the position and would have to support myself. so my question is does anyone have any suggestions of hospitals willing to hire nurses with no experience? I have tried Florida hospital, Florida Baptist, and some one the smaller hospitals, but getting a lot of 'not hired' or 'perusing other candidates' emails. any suggestions would be very much appreciated. I'm willing to go anywhere. Thanks so much!
  3. Just a heads up, my experience with the Cgfns may be the exception (although I've read that many people are in the same boat as I), but my Cgfns took 8 months to process. Considering I'm about the most organized person you'll ever meet, it was pretty shocking. You can pay an additional 500$ to have it expedited, but if your like me, 450$ was enough of a hit to my bank account (plus fees for your schools to fill out paperwork and send transcripts). At one point around the 6 month mark, I actually called just about every other day and spoke to my case manager trying to get it moving, only to find out that she walked off the job with no notice. Needless to say, I'm glad the process is over, and I won't have to worry about it again for a while. So the moral of my story, be organized, have everything ready before submitting your paperwork, have a contact person at each school you went to who is willing to put in a little extra work for you, and too much information is always better then too little when it comes to Cgfns. Best of luck!
