  1. That is short-staffed. Our hospital max is 12:1. Thank goodness I usually only have about 9, but I still get behind occassionally with some nurses thinking their pt. has priority over another. Just take ur time and learn to say NO, I can't do that right now, I'm doing ________. Don't try to be a matyr or superwoman and use the bathroom, holding it in is not good for your health. Good Luck!
  2. If ur able or willing to move we have some state schools in Ohio that only require a 2.75 undergrad GPA with a 3.0 or higher for pre-reqs.
  3. Yes! You can still find work in a hospital with an ADN in Ohio. A top rated hospital at that. There is one in my city that requires a Bachelors, but the other hospitals have a disclosure that you complete your BSN within 5 yrs. But, we have some really good state ABSN programs in the state. It's worth it for the same amount of time. The ABSN program I'm going for is four semesters and it looks like that's the standard in the state for an ABSN. Hope this helps.
  4. Right! I hope so. I have 2 newborns in the family this week. :-) They contact the qualified applicants the end of Feb. if they get an interview. It's less than 2 wks. Hope to get the call or letter this week.
  5. Hello! I've been stalking this site for a couple yrs. now, just registered. Finally applied to an AccelBSN. My first degree was in 2005. Long story short nursing was my original major, but I switched b/c I was intimidated by the science courses. Now I'm taking the same courses I was afraid to take back then. More mature now, I actually study. I'm one of the smart kids in my science classes, who knew? Now I'm chomping at the bit to see if I got into my program, I've only applied to the one school I've been eyeing since 2006. This has been such a long time coming, I started working towards this goal when I obtained my stna the 1st time in my junior year in high school and worked in a nursing home. Worked in a hospital as a tech during undergrad 1st go round for 3 yrs. Back in a hospital this go round. Any day now.....The wait, the wait....what to do with my waking hours when I'm not working, studying, exercising, hanging out with love ones, dating? kissing babies. Seriously, I think about it non-stop.
  6. I know it's almost a year later. Did you get in? I see from a previous poster I won't know until late March or April. But, when did you have an interview, surely before April? Are interviews mandatory for admission? Bump to the top.
