  1. Hi everyone! I'm interested in pursuing my RN-MSN in Nursing Education at WGU. Has anyone completed the program successfully? If so, was it worth it, how long did it take you to complete, what was the hardest part(s) for you? I'm interested in teaching online in the future and wondering if this program prepares you for that and if there are grads that successfully land online nursing instructor positions post completion of their MSN at WGU? Thank you all in advance!
  2. Hello everyone, I'm a second semester nursing student with a year until I graduate. I'm planning for the future and figure I would get on here and ask some questions. I've tried to do some research, but it would be great to hear from anyone with any experience related to practicing nursing in Europe. I'm really interested in living in Europe and had two questions: 1. Are there opportunities for US trained nurses in Europe? 2. Are there work from home jobs available to nurses in Europe? (Or remote work for employer in US that would allow work from anywhere) I love to travel so the second option is really important. The ability to work remotely as a nurse would be a huge advantage. I know the US has opportunities in case management that allow you to work from. Does anyone have experience in either area in Europe? One or both? Thanks! :)
  3. Thank you for your reply. I would even consider applying to ABSN programs since I have my first degree. Only issue there is cost and intensity of the programs. Also, the only prerequisite some of those schools require that I do not have is Chemistry. I'm not sure something so expensive with an intense schedule would be good for someone new to the city.
  4. I got my acceptance packet from USF in the mail literally three hours before the deadline for Summer '14. I had just got home from receiving a kidney transplant and did not have the energy to log on and try to knock out the nursing application. I am considering applying for Summer '15 because now I feel 100%. However, I am very nervous of the ABSN programs as I hear they are extremely difficult. I really want to get out of Florida, but feel like if I am going to stay here that I should take a program I can finish ASAP. I am currently enrolled in Daytona State College's ASN program that starts in January, but just want something that will get me finished earlier. I have a BA in Political Science from UCF and a 3.45 GPA. I'm not sure what my chances are anyways.
  5. Hi all, I currently live in Florida and hold a BA. I am starting nursing school here in January, but I have an urge to move to NYC for school (i don't want to wait two years until I finish school). I've looked into this program and I have a 3.23 GPA in the four required courses as well as a 75 on the TEAS. I'm interested in applying for Fall 2015, but worried that since I don't even live in the state they will overlook my application. Any advice/input?
  6. I got in as well! I am taking classes in DeLand. Anyone else?
  7. Hello! I was wondering if anyone knows if it would be possible to transfer to an ASN program in NYC area after completing my first semester of an ASN program in Florida? I know some schools won't accept credits from other Nursing programs so I would feel like I am wasting my time. Also, I have a prior degree in Political Science, but was thinking accelerated programs might be too difficult for a first timer living in the city. Does anyone have any experience or any suggestions? Thanks!
  8. Hey everyone! I'm applying for the Regular BSN program at UNF for Fall. Do any of you that didn't get in for Summer mind telling me what your GPA and TEAs scores were like? I have a BA in Political Science, but don't want to wait around until Summer to start an ABSN program. Considering a Regular BSN program that starts Fall will end about the same time as an ABSN program that starts Summer. :)
  9. I plan on applying for the ABSN program at USF for Fall. I cannot fill out the SOAR application until I finish Microbiology at the end of this month. Can anyone tell me what's required in the SOAR application besides the application, prerequisite courses, and writing sample? Does USF require a resume or letters of recommendation? Thanks!
  10. Gator Love, which university is that? The one in Alabama.
  11. Petition denied. I guess what I'll do is try USF for Fall and then once I get my BSN, try UF for grad school. Maybe they'll like me better then! I sure hope so, because I've always wanted to go to Florida. Good luck to everyone that got in and everyone that's waiting for a spot to open up!
  12. For those that may not have been accepted and are petitioning: Mr. Foote informed me that petitions are typically reviewed in the order they are received. However, he said they might not get to them until Monday/Tuesday. Just in case anyone was wondering and so everyone isn't asking him the same questions!
  13. They take the last 60 hours of undergraduate. If you're like me and took all of the prerequisite courses post-undergrad, then those don't calculate into the 60. I found that out yesterday. That's a separate category.
  14. Ali, I'm petitioning as well. Good luck!
  15. Well, I didn't get in. Good luck everyone!
  16. Congrats kmcnally and drad!
  17. No letter today in Orlando.
  18. Congratulations TLGator! I wish I had a mailman that came at the same time every day!!
  19. Alright guys. Ken Foote said that decisions have gone out and we should be receiving something in the mail soon.
  20. I sure will! Also, is UF on Spring break? That could have something to do with it. If that's the case, maybe they won't go out until this coming Monday.
  21. Really?! Wow, this is torture. No letter in Orlando either. I sent Ken Foote an email.
  22. No letter in Orlando. Something from the Central Florida Gator Club for my parents though, lol.
  23. Mail just came. Nothing. I live right outside of Orlando.
  24. deejgator, kmcnally, ali10: I scored one point below on the verbal portion of the GRE, but scored much higher on the quantitative than they wanted. I too asked Mr. Foote about whether or not that would automatically disqualify me for admission and he told me that it would not. Best of luck to everyone! I hope we all get in. I'm extremely nervous, but trying to stay as positive as possible.
