  1. Anyone starting next week? I'm going to be in the Residency/Bridge program for the Neuro ICU. Just wanted to see if anyone is interested in a new grad FB group.
  2. Hey Tracy, I don't know if you need titers drawn, but I went to www.accesalabs.com and they were the cheapest I could find. There's 30 lab clinics in Houston so I bet there's one near you. They did my MMR and Varicella for $158.
  3. From my understanding most programs require that you send in your prints regardless if you are sending in a DO or not, so schedule to do them promptly. The Austin BON will start a file on you when you complete the prints or when they receive your DO, whichever is first. Once they have both your prints/fbi criminal history and your DO they will have all they need to make a judgement within 30 days, or send you a letter letting you know they need further review and consequently $150 from you.
  4. Firstly, congratulations on making the step towards becoming a nurse! I'm going for my BSN and I'm in the same boat; I took all the prereqs at a community college where the students were younger than me as well (this will be my 2nd degree). The reason most people go the longer route and bridge through the ADN > BSN is so that they can start working in a hospital while going to school. Most hospitals will even pay for the bridge as long as you devote 1-2 years to them afterwards.
