  1. Thank you everyone for your advice! I was accepted for the traditional program. It runs a little longer than UNG's program, but not enough I sway my decision either way. I was able to connect with the nurse recruiter from the hospital that I would like to work at once graduated and she recommended UNG, since we would be doing all of our clinicals there and it would give me a chance to network and potentially line up a job for once I graduate. There's also a great nurse extern program the hospital offers to local students that I'm very interested in so I have decided to pursue UNG. Thanks again for all of your advice and best of luck at KSU :)
  2. Looking for a bit of advice here...I have been accepted to the University of North Georgia BSN as well as KSU BSN and I am having a terrible time deciding which program to pursue. UNG is closer, I could live at home (for basically free), be closer to my fiancé in Athens, network with the my hometown hospital where I eventually would like to work (At least I think I would like to work there, it is all I have ever known) however, this is UNG first year with a bsn, they have always offered ASN in years past (but did offer a RN to BSN). KSU is about an hour and a half away, I would have to move up there probably by second semester, I would be away from my fiancé and family, although my brother does live in Canton, very close to KSU...any insight? I have had many people tell me what an excellent program KSU is, it's amazing reputation, but UNG is also a well known program where I am from and most nurses at the local hospital are graduates from there..I am so torn!
  3. Okay, I am a little confused. If we take Patho this summer, we will basically just have a lighter load the first fall semester? But we are not required to take it this summer, correct?
  4. Yay just got my email!!! :) I applied for the traditional program.
  5. I got the email! I wonder if it means anything..
  6. Oops I guess I should have added that I was accepted! I scored a 86 on my TEAS and have a 3.7.
  7. Check your ung emails!!!!
  8. I just saw where someone received their letter of acceptance for RN to BSN at UNG today. Hopefully we are next!!
  9. I am confused now..did anyone else not get the email stating someone would be away for 2 weeks? I did not..
  10. Thank goodness!! Thanks for the info.
  11. I hope so!! Seems crazy to have us waiting until April when they could finish within a week..
  12. Bad news- a classmate of mine emailed her friend who works in the nursing dept. and as of now, letters are still scheduled to go out in APRIL.
  13. I got the e-mail as well :) I will be lacking the research class as of this summer.
  14. Yay, some action on this thread finally :) I am curious as to how competitive UNG will be since they are now a BSN program..hope we hear something soon!
  15. Hello all! I was accepted to GPC (the college, not the nursing program) on the LAST day of the nursing application deadline ? Luckily, I had already sent in my TEAS in hope of my application getting through in time, so I applied on the final day and just got my letter in the mail yesterday saying I met minimum requirements. WHEW! I cut it close, but now the waiting begins. Best of luck to all!
  16. Just in case any of y'all are Athens preferred or Athens only, I called Dr. Cook and she said we probably won't know anything until next week.
  17. Congratulations to all accepted! Here's to hoping and waiting!
  18. Anyone else get a call?
  19. Congratulations!! What campus?
  20. Waiting, waiting, waiting.....
  21. What campus did you apply to though? I said Athens only, so they could possibly just be dealing with us difficult ones first lol.
  22. My application was complete the week of the January deadline..around the 2nd week in January I believe.
  23. So..I just received a call from Dr. Cook saying that they were meeting about applicants now and she was calling to get more information as to why I requested Athens only. I told her I have a fiancé, we are trying to set a wedding date, he will be attending UGA, etc...and that was all. No acceptance..just an okay thank you bye! Ah not sure what to think of that call. Maybe I'm not quite up to the Athens standards. Now I wait ?
  24. I was told late march/mid-April when I emailed them!
  25. Ohhh the anticipation.. not feeling so good about my decision to apply to Athens only now. They take 35ish, and I applied early January..they may not even get to my application!
