Help! I need great shoes
Hi there! I was just accepted into nursing school and will begin my clinical studies in August. I am in the market for the most comfortable pair of shoes that I can find. I have reflux in my lef leg and need support as well as comfort. Nurses, please help narrow my search and give me any advice on maintaining while working long shifts and constantly on my feet.

Any Suggestions???
Hey Ladies, I think that it is crucial that we keep one another updated on all fronts and not just our education and careers. I'm guessing that most of us have kids and families, so let's help one another out. Please read this tread and if you know of free or affordable, safe daycare here in New Orleans - holla. We have several members in need. Also, if you know about any progams that will assist on the financial end, please respond and title it accordingly. Thank you.

You can get the same experience by volunteering (for free). I learned and got a chance to see it all in the ER of Touro Infirmary. They have an excellent volunteer program. I did get excepted into OLOLC and I know that the experience that I received from Touro helped. Plus, you want to add community service to your portfolio as it is important to your career and your personal growth. Good luck!

Thank you so much for responding! I have a guy in summer school with me and he too is awaiting word. I will also let you know when I hear something. I did find out yesterday that they called a girl and informed her that she would be on an alternate list if someone does not accept. Ain't that nothin'!!

Let me totally back up and say congratulations on getting into LSU! That is one huge accomplishment and why I can answer your last question. You are going to do whatever it takes. If you have two kids and have made it through thus far, nothing will stop you now!! I have been in your shoes girl, i'm sure many of you reading this message have been as well. It is the spirit of the Woman and what will make us superior nurses. Now that I have concluded my inspirational piece, let me move on to the informational address. My best friend found an excellent nursery/daycare center for her toddler very close to where you will attend your clinicals. The name of the Place is called Hume Development Center and the cost of their services is based upon your income. They are on the ball with everything and she loves it. My second suggestion would be to call Catholic Charities, Volunteers of America and entities of the like to find out what they have that you are applicable for. There are many things out there just waiting to be discovered. I hope that you will find something soon and I will keep my eys and ears open for you. Good Luck!!

Why aren't you eligible for childcare assistance if i'm not being too forward? If you will be unemployed, you sound applicable to me!

Is there anyone out there that has applied, been interviewed and fingerprinted for OLOLC/Tulane Accelerated Program? I am a new member and I have not received any responses on my 2 other OLOLC threads and i'm wondering if maybe i'm doing something wrong. I know you guys are out there!! Tell me that you too are running to the mailbox daily. Tell me that you too think of what exactly are they looking for and are you in. Somebody, anybody!!! I have worked so hard to get to this point and actually don't even have a plan B and don't want one. I do have faith, but my imagination is beginning to dance. Please respond or even tell me about a friend. HELP!! Nail-less in New Orleans

Which program are you planning to attend?

Lsue
Where you choose to pursue your BSN dictates what exactly has to be done. Everyone seems to be popping up with a program - just make sure of their accredidation before applying. Call around and ask for info packs and select the best one specifically for you. Good luck!

Delgado PAX Exam questions
No calculators. When you signed up did you pay? When you pay, you will receive an instruction sheet. It basically tells you where to report and what not to bring or do. If your cell rings you will be escorted out and receive a 0 as your score. Be on time and get a good breakfast. It's really not that bad.
