PVT still works as of 6/20/2014
I took my NCLEX on Friday June 20th, 2014 and it shut off at 75 questions. I felt so defeated and was convinced I had failed because about a third of my exam consisted of 'select all that apply questions' and I just felt so unsure throughout the whole test. After leaving the testing center, I consulted google and learned about the Pearson Vue Trick (the one where you try to re-register for the NCLEX and if it takes you to the credit card info page, you failed, or if you get a pop-up saying that you have already scheduled this exam and cannot register again at this time, you passed). Most of the discussions I read regarding this trick confirmed that it is, in fact, accurate but there were a few people who claimed otherwise. I decided to give it a try and when I attempted to re-register I got the 'good pop up'. This gave me a glimmer of hope that maybe I hadn't failed after all but those couple of people who claimed it was not accurate really hindered my ability to find relief. My purpose in creating this topic is to hopefully help alleviate the others who are in the position I was in all weekend and happily say that as of 6/20/2014, the trick still works because today I found out that I passed my NCLEX! I cannot say that it is 100% accurate because glitches do occur but it seems to me like it is right more times then not. It is a quick way to help relieve your curiosity during the tedious 48 hours of waiting for your quick results or the dreadful 6 weeks of waiting for your license in the states that don't offer quick results. GOOD LUCK TO ALL TAKING THEIR NCLEX!

What was/are the 3 things that got/get you through nursing school?
First and foremost, coffee, lots of it! There will be plenty of days where you feel like a total zombie and caffeine is a quick and delicious way to pick you back up! The next thing that really helped me keep up through nursing school was a reliable laptop. Literally all of our work is online so it was very necessary. Plus, there are SO many online resources that can help with NCLEX prep. So much better than carrying tons of heavy books and a countless number of notecards around everywhere. The last thing that really helped me get through it all was steering clear of people who were full of negative energy. I don't know about your nursing class, but mine is full of people who do nothing but complain. I know it can be therapeutic to openly vent about things concerning the program that you dislike but seriously, do the best you can to refrain. Not only will it keep you out of trouble with your dean/instructors but it will keep you away from unnecessary drama. Nursing school is already stressful enough, you don't need to take part with people who add to that stress level.

When should senior nursing students/new grads apply for jobs/take the NCLEX?
Thanks a lot! It made the most sense to me to start applying this semester because I figured waiting too long could potentially mean all new grad slots would get filled up. If you don't mind my asking, what did your resume consist of? I know I need to start putting one together, but I am not really sure what is valuable information and what is not. Thanks!

When should senior nursing students/new grads apply for jobs/take the NCLEX?
I am new to this website and am seeking any advice about when it is appropriate to start applying for nursing positions. I am a senior nursing student in the last semester of nursing school. I am on track to graduate in May of 2014 and am really unsure about when nursing students should apply for jobs. Is it appropriate to apply for new graduate positions prior to graduating, or are you supposed to wait until after graduation? Also, when do you sign up to take the NCLEX? Do you sign up prior to graduation, or are you only eligible to sign up upon receiving your BSN? How soon after graduation do most people take their NCLEX? These are all questions I plan on asking my instructors very soon, but I figured I would also seek out the knowledge of others who have experience with this.
