  1. I tested on June 26th, submitted my application and money on July 1, and my license was posted July 21.
  2. Update, I called today, July 21st. They are processing applications that they have received on June 12th. They wouldn't tell me about how long until they process July 1st, when I sent mine in. So it sounds like applications from 5.5 weeks ago are just now getting processed! brassguy, if you sent yours in on July 11 it probably won't get process until mid-August. Mine won't be processed for another two weeks still!
  3. This is ridiculous, the application says no more than 4 weeks! I have been applying to jobs, I do not get rejected right away if it's a new grad posting, but most places won't consider you if you don't have a number, which is now taking them 6-8 weeks apparently. brassguy, I have been writing "license processing," instead of pending, not sure if it does anything but thought it would be more indicative that I have already taken the exam.
  4. If it isn't causing a problem in the classroom, just some mean looks, forget it an move on. You are going to experience plenty of this and need to learn when to fight, and when to not. Don't be passive aggressive, which it sounds like you confronted the individual, but don't be over-bearing either. It sounds like you tried to confront this classmate, and got nothing out of it, so move on, doing anything further may cause unnecessary drama that is not needed!
  5. I tested on June 26th, 2014 and sent in my application and check on July 1, 2014. I was looking at some of the names on the website, and it looks like some licenses are being processed from July 11, 2014. Does anyone know what is going on, or how behind they are? How long did it take before your name appeared on idfpr?
  6. Thank you for all the responses! Like I said, I've been doing home health for a few years now and have definitely learned how to adapt to peoples needs and wants. I've learned to respect the person in their home, and not take things personally. I always wear clean scrubs and shower at least once a day, I am clean and appear clean. This is one of those rare moments that I was taken aback and felt offended afterwards. Im the same race as this couple, so I don't think it's a race thing. I do think it's a "having help in the house" thing though. She is very resistant to having help in the home because she believes her husband does not need it, I highly disagree, but working as an aid I would never say that. I feel as if it's a disrespect for the work of an aid, but I will always respect her wish. They are moving soon, so I don't plan on being pulled from the shifts. Im glad to hear though that my feelings are justified and I will be sure to inform my manager that this is an issue so future aids are aware from day 1.
  7. I have no information on her, as we are only providing cares to the husband. I am not sure whether it would be appropriate for me to report to my company that I feel offended and uncomfortable.

I have worked as a CNA in home health for 2.5 years. I have recently completed my BSN and have passed the NCLEX, so I would say I'm a fairly competent aid. I recently had an experience that has confused me and made me question what is and is not acceptable by the client when providing care in their home. I am am working with a couple in a senior complex, who I would say is fairly normal with cleanliness. The first thing I do when I arrive to my shift is go into the kitchen and wash my hands. Today, the wife informed me that I must not have been told that she is the only one that goes in their kitchen. I was confused so I questioned what she meant by this, to which she informed me that I have germs and if I go in the kitchen then she'd get germs from me. One thing I have learned working in home health is to be as respectful as possible as you are in someone's home, but I was actually offended by this request, now feel uncomfortable with wherever I go, and like I am not very highly thought of in this home. I am not sure if it is reasonable for me to feel offended. What do others think of this situation? Would you be offended or feel the same?
  9. I think they have had that up since before our interviews, so I don't think it applies directly to if they picked people or not. You can probably apply regardless. I was told maybe the first two weeks of May but for sure end of May, and that we would get a rejection letter if we didn't get the job. I'm just hoping someone hears any day now!
  10. I'm from the area, and have asked around, but I don't know anyone who has applied. It's driving me crazy too! I mean, I know they're busy, but it's been over a month since they've concluded interviews. I'm expecting a rejection at this point too, I just wish they could let us know. I wish I could call too, but they'll just get annoyed I think because they did say could be end of may.
  11. I don't think so, I'm fairly certain that has been there for at least a month and they talked about that at the interviews.
  12. Nothing yet. They said as late as end of may, but I don't know if others have heard anything.
  13. You will probably find that information on their website. This thread is for discussion about the August cohort.
  14. I am wondering what the process is like, such as when they start to contact people. If you get an interview and they want you, how long does that take? And if anyone has any information on the type of interview questions.
  15. Has anyone heard back about the 2014 August cohort Nurse residency program? Anyone who has done the program, what was the interview like, and the notification process for after interviewing?
