  1. Congratulations! Thank you for sharing. Did everyone in your group pass, that you know of?
  2. I agree with you on the preparedness issues, they were probably in the right on those, as I'm sure dress code and equipment was addressed before clinical started. The "near miss/medication error" thing has me stumped. If they are standing there watching you, neither of these should happen. They are there to guide and teach, otherwise you would already be graduated. Even the worst clinical instructors I have encountered would not stand by and watch you nearly or all the way make a med error, just so they could ding you for it after. That's a pretty ******* thing to do, and dangerous to the patient. Even the meanest ones know to some degree that students are nervous, and if you already knew it all you wouldn't require their services.
  3. I wish there was a way to compare pass rates per site. I know in theory they should all be equal, and it's all about preparation, but it would be nice to know you weren't signing up for the site that fails more students than others. The vibe I get from reading posts is that the Georgia sites fail more people than New York, but it would be interesting to quantify that.
  4. Sounds like this absolutely needs to be done!
  5. I'm in the same boat. My school has a ten year limit on science classes, and I was unable to find one that didn't. I had to retake nutrition, micro, and A&P1 and A&P2. All other (non-science classes) will stand and don't have to be retaken.
  6. Go back. Those jobs are hard to come by, especially as an LPN. So many places are exactly like the nursing home you describe, and over time you will only become more resentful of the situation and miss your old job.
  7. Just getting over the shock of being told I had to retake 4 classes before I can start the RN program. My school has a limit of 10 years. What irritates me the most is 2 are pre-reqs for the LPN program, which I obviously already graduated from, which hardly seems fair. I mean, nutrition? Really? Still determined to do it, so I guess I'll get through it.
