  1. Congrats!! I remember the excitement I had when I finally got into the OR. Pay attention during all cases, and keep a book of what you have seen and done. It will help you remember when you do that case again.
  2. I am an OR circulator, and I am trying to get pregnant. I also circulate in many radiation cases. Once a staff member becomes pregnant at my facility we try to have other staff circulate the radiation cases, especially in the first trimester. If this is not possible, it is okay to wear lead but you must get a fetus badge to wear at your waist when you are in these cases. I believe you should let your manager know so that you can take these extra precautions. Congratulations!!!
  3. I was a Med Surg nurse for only 2 years before I became an OR circulator. I could never imagine doing anything else! There are very few OR jobs posted as compared to other specialties because of higher retention. The class that you were in will definitely be worth mentioning on your resume and will be useful in helping you get an OR job. If you see an opportunity, Apply!
