  1. @Dreamer2291-- I have one class (anatomy) in progress, but I am literally done with the class tomorrow. I made sure to mention that during my interview, and I was told that having a class(s) in progress would not affect my admission but I won't know until I check the portal tomorrow. Good luck, Berry
  2. CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who got accepted. I am so nervous to check...so I won't until tomorrow. Once I am done with my last prereq! ;)
  3. @SunshineDaisy-- Congrats. Isn't that funny how things work out? Also, are you a new RN grad nurse with a BSN? If so, how long did it take you to establish employment? How long after you graduated did you take your NCLEX? Best, Berry
  4. @Dreamer2291-- My personal statement was about 2 pages, single spaced. I had to revise it a bit when I went from ADN to ABSN. It was very similar, though. I just added a paragraph. Good luck, Berry
  5. @hdkim-- I have a few questions about the ABSN program. Would you mind emailing me at [email protected] as I would love to hear from previous students. I would appreciate any help, Berry
  6. @aleong29-- I have a few questions about the ABSN program. Would you mind emailing me at [email protected] as I would love to hear from previous students. I would appreciate any help, Berry
  7. @ourbaba-- I have a few questions about the ABSN program. Would you mind emailing me at [email protected] as I would love to hear from previous students. I would appreciate any help, Berry
  8. @daffodilrobot-- Thanks for the update. I wish you the best. Best, Berry
  9. @absnb-- I believe they are still conducting interviews next week. I would imagine that decisions for acceptance will be mailed out by early February. Though, I think they post their decision on WebAdvisor which may come soon than the letter. Good luck, Berry
  10. @Aleks1281-- Thanks for the update. My interview was today and I have to agree, the staff were all very nice. My interview was short and to the point. Nothing out of the ordinary; though, I did ask if having a class in progress would disqualify me from being accepted. I was told that all classes needed to be completed by the start of the Summer semester. So for those wondering, I guess the answer is "no". Good luck to those still interviewing and to those awaiting a decision. Kindest regards, Berry
  11. xjblee88x-- Thanks for your post. I have a few questions about the program; do you think your friend would be amenable to speak with me? I am interested in finding out how he/she enjoyed the program and what to expect from the program--once admitted. Thanks, Berry
  12. @xjblee88x-- Seems that nothing is ever done in a uniform fashion. However, it looks like they have started calling prospective students for interviews this week and next; which is sooner than last year's cohort Kindest regards, Berry
  13. @tmogirl010-- I think having this thread allows us to communicate our questions and concerns....so I hope it makes the waiting process a bit more manageable. I received an email to interview this week; Thursday at 1:00 p.m. is the big day! Wish me luck! Best, Berry
  14. @daffodilrobot-- I also only missed it by a few I wonder if we will be able to see which questions we missed before we retake the test??? I am really perplexed with this whole admissions process as I was under the impression that the interview process took weeks. Not sure how this will all work out since they anticipate sending out admission notices to the cohort members by the end of the month. It is almost the end of the month:nailbiting:. Anyway, I wish everyone the best of luck. Berry
  15. I also only missed it by a few
  16. Dreamer2291-- Good luck with your endeavors for the ABSN program. I am almost positive that you will not be required to resubmit additional letters as they should carry over. I had to resubmit new letters because I originally applied to the ADN program and the required letters were different (didn't need to be on professional letterhead or from an academic source). It has been a long journey getting here, and unfortunately, I missed 3 questions on the math exam. Hopefully everyone else passed with 100. Best, Berry
  17. All— Thank you for those who responded. Seems that many past nursing students did terrible on the math exam (after they had been accepted) and so they decided to invite potential candidates to take the exam prior to interviews. That makes sense, but I think some of us were concerned as to why they switched up the process. The test wasn’t terribly difficult; though, the requirement to pass with 100% is quite nerve wrecking. For those that took the exam this Friday, it was a pleasure meeting you (or being in the same room with you). I hope everyone did well. Good luck and hope to meet again. Best, Berry
  18. Hi TwineeJoy— Thank you for responding. Seems that many past nursing students did terrible on the math exam (after they had been accepted) and so they decided to invite potential candidates to take the exam prior to interviews. That makes sense, but I think a lot of us were concerned as to why they switched up the process. The test wasn’t terribly difficult; though, the requirement to pass with 100% is quite nerve wrecking. I’m assuming you passed with a 100% : )~ Anyway, good luck and hope to meet you face to face. Best, Berry
  19. I was under the impression that invitations for the math test were only sent to students who successfully passed the interview. I am scheduling my exam for this coming Friday. Have you studied yet? It's not difficult at all...but the passing requirement of 100% does add an element of stress to it
  20. This is a new thread for anyone that has applied to the Mount St. Mary's College Accelerated BSN program in Los Angeles for Summer 2014 entry. This is my first application for admission to MSMC ABSN program; though, I was accepted for admission to their ADN program. Did anyone hear anything back yet for Summer 2014? Is there an interview process? I have read conflicting information on this topic. I haven't applied anywhere else; however, MSMC is my first and only choice. Does anyone have any information as to when they will be sending out interviews/admission offers? I hear it's until February for May start dates!! Also, I received this email on January 10 regarding the Nursing Basic Math Test: Dear Applicant, We would like to thank you for your application to our Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program for the Summer 2014 cohort. In an effort to assist you in completing the application process and assist us in determining who our most qualified applicants are, we are asking that every qualified applicant take our Nursing Basic Math Exam. Students must past the Nursing Basic Math Exam with a grade of 100% in order to begin the program, so please diligently prepare for this exam. All students, regardless of entry level or previous successful completion of a college level math course, must take this test. The Nursing Basic Math Exam does not affect your admissibility into the program. If an applicant does not receive 100% on the Nursing Basic Math Exam and is admitted into the program, they will be offered the opportunity to remediate and retest in late April before the program begins...... Would love to hear from fellow nursing school hopefuls ) Good luck to all you!! Berry
