  1. thank you so much nori021 and ecolmen! I know I am going there for a reason it just sucks when my dream was that close.... best of luck to all of you!
  2. I had my interview last tuesday (12/9) and heard back from them on Friday (12/12) that I interviewed very well but there were so many good candidates and I was not chosen. It came to "enie-meanie-miney-mo" is what the manager told me.......I asked if I could improve on anything and that was the answer I got. Hope someone external gets a spot in the residency! Im headed to oklahoma university medical center! ready to start my career!
  3. There were 7 people interviewing me. scary enough haha and they each asked a question on a sheet in front of them and graded my responses 1-3 (I peeked at the girls paper next to me haha) and they asked a lot about who I am, why CHOC and ped onc?, dealt with a stressful time, deal with difficult patient/family/ doctor? And that was about it. It only lasted 30 min. Kind of crazy how fast it went but I was so nervous so I'm hoping they saw past it.
  4. They are making their decisions for hem/onc by Friday. Interviewing people all day today! Idk how many they are taking tho
  5. Thank you! I am so nervous, its my dream job and I don't want to mess it up! I had gotten an offer for another hospital out of state and they want me to tell them the beginning of next week what I decide! I hope the unit chooses quickly so I can give them an answer because I don't want to go longer without a RN job!
  6. I am preparing through behavioral questions and basic interview questions. Also I would prepare what you would say when they ask you why PICU?
  7. My status didnt change at all. It has been a very long process. I graduated Dec 2013 and got my RN license in March 2014. I am BSN and have my BLS, ACLS, PALS certs as well. It was not an easy process and there have been many rejections along the way. Persistence and Faith have gotten me to this point. Its my dream and I'm hoping that is why i have had to wait so long. Don't give up on your dreams!
  8. I know this is a different cohort but any questions asked during the hem/onc residency interview would be appreciated!
  9. I applied to the Hem/Onc and received a call for interviewing. Its on the 9th of December. Been waiting a year for a permanent acute care job and this is my dream job! I'm hoping it all goes well and I finally get to start in a career I have been patiently waiting for! Best of luck to all who applied!
  10. Hi, I am interviewing for the oncology RN residency for March 2015 and was wondering what the first round of interviews was like with the unit managers? It is a phone interview because I currently live in California. Thank you!
  11. I had my application forwarded to the Hem/Onc manager a month ago. nothing else has been heard so far!
  12. i have only received the email saying my app was sent to the appropriate manager and that was almost 3-4 weeks ago. (Hem/Onc)
  13. Do you know if all positions for the hem/onc floor are closed or are they still reviewing candidates? MY application status changed a week or two ago to that it was sent for further review but i haven't heard anything else. Thank you!
  14. Hello, I was looking at a pediatric job in TX, coming from CA. which hospital do you work at?
