Submitted a Declaratory Order in Texas
I had some MIP's from 2008/2009 and mine went in enforcement. My file went into enforcement last July, heard back from the Board at the end of December telling me to get a chemical dependency evaluation. I had 45 days to get that done and now just waiting to hear back from the Board. I graduated May 2013 and still have not taken NCLEX. It can take along time but I've read about some people on here who have been lucky. I did not have to do a Declaratory Order to get into my school though, just when graduation came and I had to apply for licensure.

Texas Board Petition for NCLEX
Hello DallasNurse! I know this thread is very old but my situation sounds similar to yours. I graduated May 2013 and had some MIPs (well actually two MIPS and one Minor in Consumption of alcohol) on my record from 2008. I did not know to do a Declaratory Order while in school so when I graduated in May my file was sent off into enforcement. I finally heard back from them in December and doing a chemical dependency evaluation tomorrow. I am just wondering if you had to do a chemical dependency evaluation. Also, were you able to get your license with no stipulations on it or did they try to put you into any kind of monitoring program? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Nursing License and MIC/MIPs
Hello! Has anybody ever had to go through the enforcement review for MIC/MIPs (minor in consumption/possession of alcohol)? I am just wondering what the outcome has been of people in similar situations as me.... TPAPN? What kind of stipulations on license? etc.... I'm not really sure what to expect will happen to my license at this point. Also, I'm in Texas if that helps at all. Thanks!

Help me please!
Hey... I have ZERO DUIs! I have MIC/MIPs from my senior year of high school (homecoming party bus got searched, a bottle of liquor was found, and everyone on the bus received an MIC) and freshman year of college (one time I was on a beach with a beer in my hand and an officer approached me... second time drinking a beer while camping) I am sure everyone on here had a drink before the age of 21. I just got caught doing it :) I have never thought of myself as a chemically dependent person though.

Help me please!
Wow! 9 hours and $3,000?! The first evaluation I scheduled was $800 but I still felt like that was a little much. I am not going to that evaluation anymore though because a lawyer advised me not to since the psychologist was on the board-approved list. I don't have a chemical dependency problem but I have three alcohol related charges on my record (one Minor in Consumption and two Minor in Possession ALL from 2008!) Thank you for the information!!! Another question... Did they drug test you? I will 100% pass a urine test but it is the hair test possibility that scares me. I don't take any drugs but I've read that alcohol can be looked at on a hair test. Thanks!!

Help me please!
Hello!! I know this thread is a little old. Callahan, I was wondering if you could please email me the evaluator you went to?! My email is [email protected]. Did anybody else on this thread go to a evaluator who was NOT on the board approved list?! Any recommendations would be great! I want to stay away from the board-approved psychologists unless I hear first hand they are not biased.

Chemical Dependency Evaluation!!
4 tickets total. All alcohol related. Also, they were also from my freshman year of college- which is not an excuse but you know how freshman year goes :) These charges are from years ago and I have not been in any trouble since and I hardly even drink anymore. I'm just nervous about the evaluation... I'm scared the psychologist will try to find something wrong with me.

Chemical Dependency Evaluation!!
Hello!! I am a recent nursing graduate (May 2013) and I still have not been able to take NCLEX due to an eligibility issue. I have a few Minor In Consumption/Minor In Possession (ALCOHOL tickets, not drugs) charges from about seven years ago. I have a chemical dependency evaluation scheduled for next week. What should I expect?! Has anyone been to the board-approved psychologist (I'm not sure if I can put his name on here) in Richardson, TX? Also, do they do a urine test or hair sample? ANY info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!
