  1. The program is competitive. I was wait listed twice... They accept about 30 people for the Wall Campus and I think 48 at Jersey City. The minimum HESI required is an 80%, but to be competitive you should aim for 90% or higher. The teaching staff seems to be very passionate, the program retention and pass rate is very high. There is no interview and the application is through NursingCAS. Good Luck!
  2. No email, no nothing! I called the nursing division and was transferred, no answer on the transferred line. I emailed one of the assistants at the school also and no response. Has anyone been able to get in contact with staff at the school?
  3. I also applied. BS from Boston U 2013. From the northeast.
  4. The admissions committee is meeting on Monday June 8th. They will be using "snail mail" unfortunately. Hopefully we will hear back soon. This waiting is killing me!
  5. The current cohort in Newark is 65. Last year the both campus cohorts were combined. As said it depends on number of applicants, enrollment and faculty availability.
  6. Today is the final deadline! The real waiting and nail biting begins... I spoke with someone at admissions. The school will be sending letters out in the mail after the admissions committee meets. Hopefully we will hear back soon! Good luck to everyone
  7. Cass11 if you are applying you need to be enrolled and send Rutgers proof of enrollment. Also, you need to have a midterm grade in by the deadline. You can call enrollment services or the recruiter for specifics!
  8. The 3.3 GPA is actually PREFERRED. So people can still apply if they don't have a 3.3. They do a holistic process so everything in the application counts!
  9. SweetDream I called the School of Nursing today and was given another number to call. The woman I spoke to said that applications will be reviewed after the deadline and that the orientation is scheduled two weeks after that. That gives them a small window, but I'm guessing it will be close to June
  10. Submitted my app! Hopefully we find out quickly as the pushed the deadline back a month+
  11. CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE ACCEPTED!! Unfortunately, I have been placed on the waitlist for Wall and am anxiously waiting for a seat to open up... Jersey City folks I send you some patience as you all should find out soon
  12. Don't give up koala_rawrs ! Take the year to make your application shiny! Thanks for updating us, this means they are combing through the applications! As for waiting, I'm FREAKING OUT! Hope we find out soon. BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE!
  13. It has only been one day since the deadline and I can't deal with the waiting anymore! Best of Luck to Everyone!!! koala_rawrs , since the deadline for Wall was pushed back decisions should be expected by mid-March. I think it is safe to say JC applicants will receive decisions a few weeks after that
  14. No problem. Are you applying to The Jersey City campus or Wall?
  15. Hi rwr212, NJCU Will receive your application when it is submitted and deemed complete by NursingCAS. Nursing will only verify your application if you have completed the course work entry portion that is not required. Other applicants have commented here and you can read through the blog and hopefully find the answers you're looking for NJCU ABSN 2015 https://allnurses.com/new-jersey-nursing/njcu-absn-2015-a-958759.html
  16. According to NJCUs website the deadline for the Wall cohort application has been extended to February 23rd!!!!
  17. I did enter my coursework as I am applying to other programs. How long ago did you submit you application?
  18. On the manage programs tab on NursingCAS does is say your application was verified?
  19. Teacups , NursingCAS verifies transcripts and references. NursingCAS has to verify your application for the school to be able to see it. Here is some info I found from the makers of the program http://www.aacn.nche.edu/NursingCAS/What_is_Verification.pdf
  20. dianamoore748 , I spoke with a representative from NJCU. They are allowing 2 weeks after the deadline for NursingCAS to verify your application. The final deadlines are: Wall-Feb 17 and Jersey City -March 9th. After the final deadline decision letters will be sent out 2-3 weeks after.
  21. Hi dcp0818 ! Your references are submitted directly to NursingCAS after your recommender completes them. Unfortunately, the application will not be "Complete"(green check mark) unless all sections are complete. If you have any additional information you'd like to add you can put it in the "Other" section, otherwise upload a blank document for the section to be marked complete. As for transcript entry, NJCU only requires that you enter the prerequisites. (It was asked for clarification at the information session). After you submit your application to NursingCAS they will verify your GPA from your college transcript. Good Luck!!
  22. Michelle A There are a several questions about conversions. Know your metric conversions, mm, cm, m, km ml, l, kl. Also, Fahrenheit to Celsius and ounces to milliliters or cubic centimeters are important for the test.
  23. Took the HESI today and just submitted my payment!:) now waiting on my app to get verified
  24. I am reapplying to Wall this year (wait listed to Jersey City last year). AlexandraT I am scheduled to take the HESI on January 9th. I took it last year and it not that bad, but some people have difficulty depending how you are on test taking. There is a study guide you can buy from the people who make the HESI and the questions are very similar to those on the actual test. ChrisB718 I think everyone has a good shot that this program. I was waitlisted last year and my ugrad gpa is a 3.0 and my prerequisites gpa is a 3.34. You never know they look at the whole application. Also, my HESI score was a 90, hoping to do better this time around.
