I just got done with NCLEX last Jan. 14. I kinda want kids but I know I'm not ready for the commitment it takes so I'll just continue on playing with my niece and nephews for now. Haha! I used the Pearsonvue Exam cram practice questions. Personally, it worked for me as the format of the questions is the same as that of the real exam and it came with a CD to practice questions. I was cramming so I did like 250 questions a day so that's 1 chapter a day with the book. There's only 6 chapters. I suggest if you get it do it using the CD and go study mode so that along the way you can just click to see the answer rather than flipping the book every now and then to see the answer. A lot of people also suggest PDA by LaCharity and I opened it when I was in a bookstore. It was a choice between Pearsonvue or LaCharity and I chose Pearsonvue and I'm good with my decision. If you can afford both the PDA and other references then it wouldn't hurt :)

Being a mother is prolly one of the hardest thing to do and to pair it with nursing? Props to you! The only thing that we are similar is that I graduated also from the Philippines and it wasn't that long ago (2011). You should take a prelim exam to size where you stand. A baseline data then look into your strong and weak points. It might be good to schedule your study time with the child's nap time. You should also use your child as a reference for pedia normals :) That would be fun ^_^ like observing her normal behavior and relating them so you are reminded of the pedia normals :)

New2Nursing14' I haven't done any Kaplan qbank to be honest. I did have a Kaplan book before but it was like test taking strategies so I can't really compare. That Kaplan book was a waste for me but I got it for free since Amazon delivered it late. Haha! I passed NCLEX RN last Jan. 14 with 75 questions. I would recommend doing the whole thing just to get your mind set. Even if you don't do it all and at the same time stick to Kaplan and do it on the sides, I think it's still ok. It's all about consistency for me. When I took the exam, I was so used to the pattern of Pearsonvue that I was focusing more. It was like muscle memory with the speed of my reading and analysis as I did like 1300 questions with the same format. It helps to be consistent.

I was doing 250 a day at first using the Pearsonvue exam cram but I was running out of time so the last 3 days before the exam I was doing 500 questions a day. 250 questions in 4 hours. My chapter 1 score with it was 60% then it went up as I did the Chapters. 250 questions a day from Chapter 1 = 60% Chapter 2 = 70% 500 questions a day from merged chapters Chapter 3 = 77% Chapter 4 = 85% Chapter 5 = 88% Chapter 6 = 85% I like the Pearsonvue exam cram a lot :)

Hi! I took NCLEX last Jan 14, 2014. I stopped after 75 questions after 1 hour and 32minutes into the test. I had about 20 SATA, 2 picture, 3 dragging questions, and 2 meds calculation. Mostly were prioritization questions. I used Udan NCLEX test prep for reading and fast facts and the last 5 days I used Pearsonvue's exam cram practice question. I was doing 250 a day at first using the Pearsonvue exam cram but I was running out of time so the last 3 days before the exam I was doing 500 questions a day. 250 questions in 4 hours. Pearsonvue's exam cram is practically how NCLEX questions are worded. Short and concise.

Good day!CGFNS was able to answer my question and they said that since I'm a CES applicant and have not taken and passed any CGFNS exam then I do not have a CGFNS certification number. Just to clarify things :)

Am I right in understanding that only people who took the CGFNS exam will get the CGFNS certificate number? Which means that if you got the CGFNS CES then you don't have any and would answer "no" to the Pearsonvue registration when asked if CGFNS certified?

Good day! I have been searching for an answer as to what is a CGFNS certification number. I usually end up with the same question in forums and nobody has really answered it. I just had my CES report issued and looking at it I see my order number and my CGFNS ID number. I am registering to Pearsonvue and it is asking for my CGFNS certification number. Is it any of the two that I have previously mentioned? If so, can anyone inform me which one it is? Hoping that you can help me.
