  1. I'm not sure because our instructors had us read from our med surg book for the first few weeks. Has canvas updated class schedules yet? Or is the syllabus up?
  2. They did not transfer my Sociology credit, so I think it depends on where you took it-but they take most sociology credits. I had to retake Math also, through MyMathLab. Good luck @nhinds2
  3. There was a lot of reading all quarter!! Make sure you stay up with it, it is very easy to fall behind. Start doing your practice Maternity, Pedes, and Mental health Hesi's reviews on Evolve too. They help a lot. The Hesi is very hard!! Also in my opinion Pedes is the hardest so make sure you know your heart defects, and the early and late manifestations for those. They can be tricky!! Good luck!!
  4. Congratulations !!!!!!!! I am sorry I have not logged on, My Quarter 3 took EVERYTHING out of me!! I am so happy for you! I am actually in Tampa and just left the St. Pete campus. I am taking this next quarter off of clinicals, and will just be doing the LIT and SOC online. I just moved and need to start working and getting settled. I am starting back Oct. 2nd full time. Have you scheduled your NCLEX yet? GOOD LUCK!!!!
  5. In our quarter 3, we take maternity pedes and mental health. We have 4 exams and our cumulative hesi is worth 10% of our grade. Our discussion posts, math tests, clinicals and cpes are worth anything they are just pass fail. Is that how it was for you? I touched base with Mr. Bloom today who said he is waiting for the last eval from the registrar and head of nursing to complete my transfer.
  6. Noelle gave birth in our SIM lab on Saturday. That was quite interesting. I got a 90 on my first exam and passed first CPE so I am happy about that. We have two discussions due a week also, and care plans, concept maps, and a clinical teaching project. How many exit HESI's do you have? I hope you don't mind all the questions, my other friend who is in that program is in the 15 month program, so she can not provide all my answers. Will hopefully be transferring after this quarter!! Thank you, and keep up the good work!
  7. POSTED APR 16: Our Quarter 3 classes is what the St. Pete campus does in Quarter 4. They put our mental health/pedes/ and OB all in one class and clinical! Our clinical is at an MRDD facility that has pedes and adult residents. We don't do an OB rotation. We take our pedes/mental health/OB HESI all in one, I have already started preparing for it! How are your clinicals this quarter? How many days are you on campus, etc? They have started my file at that campus, and they told me they will let me know all the details of my transfer by April 23rd. I am guessing that since we do quarter 4 classes here in quarter 3, that I will have to enter into Quarter 3 and then go to quarter 5, but I am not sure! Good luck, you are so close now! How is the quarter going? I cant believe it is week 5 already!

  9. It is going to be your last quarter, you got it! Just a minor setback, but will be well worth it. Three months loss of pay will equal to a pay raise in the end! How many times will you be on campus for the 6th/final quarter? Keep me posted. I have been in contact with the school and will be finalizing my transfer in the begin. of May. Also, how have your clinicals been this quarter?
  10. Wow ! That's awful. I told you my friend had a similar problem with clinicals ! No one would call her back, or give any answers at the school. Our program here our clinicals are on Wednesdays , but they never promised us that we'd have only weekend clinicals . I'm sorry to hear, I hope you've gotten it all straightened out !
  11. Do you know what your preceptorship will be like in Quarter 6 yet? Do they provide hospitals and nurses or do you have to find your own? Does it have to be at a certain hospital? Do you know how much time you will have to be on campus that quarter? Thank you, you have been so helpful!
  12. How is your quarter going? My friend was upset because they said they didn't have enough clinical sites this quarter, so she can only take Lit, and will be pushed back from graduating for a quarter!
  13. I have another question. I was planning on relocating back to Tampa to finish up at the Galen there, my fiance goes to school in Daytona. I know it is a 2.5 hour drive, do you think it is doable to commute since I only will be required to be on campus about once a week and the 7 clinicals? Or do you think I should be closer? I have family and friends in Tampa so I was planning on coming and staying there the night before Clinicals. How is quarter 5 going? It was kind of hard to get back into things after the break!
  14. Are you talking about the old Center for Allied Health? I went there in 2010 as the first LPN-RN bridge. I failed that anatomy class. The schedule used to be different.. I find the hybrid program easier, and I love being able to do everything on my own time. I also hate going to class, which was a problem when i was at Jersey college/Center for allied health.
  15. I just moved from Tampa to Ohio, and I go to the Galen Cincinnati campus. I really like it, I am moving back to Tampa in June and will be transferring to the st. pete campus. Galen is accredited, and I don't think Fortis or Concorde are? I don't think Southwest Florida College is either. Good luck!
