What Do You Wear To Work?
I was hired at an elementary for the 2014-15 school year. I have been a nurse for 20 years in the hospital, but this is my first job as a school nurse. I had the opportunity to meet with the school nurse that is leaving a couple of weeks ago. When we met I found out we don't wear scrubs but professional attire. I checked with the principal and that is correct. I am a scrubs girl with no professional attire! Is this common? What in the world am I going to wear? I need to go shopping!

New School Nurse Question
I was hired as an elementary school nurse for the 2014-15 school year, I am so excited! I get the opportunity to go into the school's clinic and meet with the current nurse on Friday. I have been an ICU nurse for 20 years, so this is a huge change for me. What should I ask her? What would you look for?

ANY words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated..

Need Advice About Interview Question
I need advice.. I have been lucky to get an interview for a job as a school nurse. I have been an ICU for 21 years, I have been at my current position for the last 9 years. I am trying to come up with a good answer when asked why I want to switch specialities. I am burned out as a critical care nurse... What is the professional way to say this? Since I haven't interviewed in over 9 years, I don't know what to expect and am so nervous!!

Do You Like Being A School Nurse?
I have been an RN since 1993 in the ICU. I am thinking about changing career paths and going into school nursing. Overall, do you like your job? What is your average day like? What are the things that bother you the most about your job? Any advice you can share that will give me an accurate picture of school nursing? I am used to a stressful environment, but have never been in a role that is so autonomous. I would appreciate any advice!

Easiest and Toughest Classes In UT Arlington RN-BSN Program
Hi Lorren2002, Thanks for the info on Texas government. Hist 1312 requires a lot of time, it is not difficult material, just a lot of it. There are four units, each divided over 2 weeks. Each unit has the same four assignments. The first assignment is an individual writing assignment which consists of a 2-3 page essay. The second assignment of each unit is writing a paragraph and posting it to the discussion board. The third assignment is participating in another discussion board. The last assignment of each unit is another short essay. During the last two units you must use Turabian citation style and the "rule of 3" thesis rule (3 pieces of evidence to support your thesis). There are 2 tests, 45 points each. The questions are pulled from a larger database, so no 2 tests are alike. Your grade is based 75% on the writing exercises and 25% on the tests. Each unit you will read about 30 pages from the textbook and two chapters in another book called Clashes of Will. You are also assigned to read the novel The Jungle by Upton Sinclair during Unit 2. The lectures are videos online. There are also various primary documents to read for each unit that are found online. You will also have assigned videos to watch that range from a couple of minutes to over an hour. Overall, just a lot of information to cover. Once I got the hang of the flow of the assignments it went pretty smoothly. So far it is the most time I have spent on a class.

Easiest and Toughest Classes In UT Arlington RN-BSN Program
My official first post! I am currently enrolled at UTA and just finished HIST 1312, it was a lot of work! My next class is Art and POLS 1312. Can anyone tell me how involved TX government will be? After reading some of the previous comments it sounds like it is similar to HIST 1312? Any comments about Art?
