Feel like I'm barely passing
I'm actually getting an NCLEX review book soon. And my 2nd year mentor told me to divide evenly the number of days to study before the exam but subtract three. And those three days before just do practice questions. That helped. It helps me feel more in control but then things keep coming up to get done. Like more ATI stuff to do by the end of the month.

Feel like I'm barely passing
I honestly don't know. I've started highlighting and taking notes in my book. I want to use flash cards but I'm not sure how to make them. It's mainly the studying that I need help with.

Feel like I'm barely passing
It's almost the end of the semester and I still feel like I'm barely passing. Does anyone have any "work smarter not harder" tips because studying straight through some of the material just seems to feel like it doesn't stick. I'm not trying to find a short cut. I just want a study method that's effective and will stick. Does anyone have any tips?

Minor EMT
This probably sounds like a stupid question, but is it possible to minor in EMT and get a certificate in EMT while majoring in nursing? What I mean by this is, if someone applies to the nursing program but doesn't get in, is it a good idea to try to get a certificate in EMT before applying again to the nursing program.

CNA?
I've heard about people becoming CNAs. I'm not sure how that works. Does anyone think a pre-nursing student could become a CNA while still in school? How long is a CNA course? Does anyone know off the top of their head? Any advice as to whether or not it's a good idea? I'm thinking volunteering at a hospital this summer is the way to go.

Should i become an RN
- Should i become an RN
So this semester, I'm finishing up my pre-requisites for the nursing program at my school. I'm struggling in Micro (I'm getting help from classmates). My GPA is 2.79. It sucks. I'm looking into job-shadowing after the semester ends (probably one for one day- one week). I'm also looking into volunteering at my local hospital. The only thing is is I'm afraid that I'll find out that I couldn't handle being a nurse. The thing is, I really want to be a nurse. I've been looking forward to being a nurse for a couple of years now. Is this just "pre-nursing program jitters"? Am I just being paranoid? Please. I need some advice.- To be RN or not to be
thanks. I'm thinking about doing that this summer.- To be RN or not to be
I didn't mean it like that. I'm just asking someone to bring the reality to light about what nurses go through on a day-to-day basis.- To be RN or not to be
I'm a second semester student( finishing up prerequisites for the nursing program at my school). I'm also not too long out of high school. I'm not sure if there is anything that any of you could tell me. Horror stories of the field. Benefits (other than monetary). How you came to want to be in the nursing field. How you knew you wanted to be a nurse. How you knew whether or not you'd be a good nurse. What strategies you used to get through the program. How rewarding it felt when you finally got to sign "RN" . Please let me know any of this info if at all possible. I'm getting ready to apply and I'd really like to know. If I can handle the horror stories, I might be able to handle being a nurse. Thank you for taking the time to read this.- Passed HESI A2 - April 5th, 2013
Thank you. You're post gives me a little bit more confidence in taking the HESI. Grant it, I am still scared to take it ,but this has been helpful thank you. - Should i become an RN
