i understood your question the first time. if you researched you would see there is only one online program that offers a RN program online thats why i asked your location. the con on lpn programs is there aren't many bridge programs and the RN programs have long ass waiting list at the same time if you get ur RN associates degree it will only take you about 18mos to get ur bsn online. getting your lpn prior to an associate rn program will help you cuz it will be like a review but its just a longer route

Where do u live? and i agree ^^^ its easy to take these pre reqs now that u havent started the lvn program but once you start its gonna be mega hard with time to READ READ READ and clinicals also depends on how many classes u have per qtr. goodluck i wouldnt be able to do it. i plan on doing my pre reqs online as soon as i take the nclex in May.

I go to jersey college school of nursing in ewing, nj. We have 4 branches of my college and yes i would reccomend others to atttend if they are willing to work hard and dedicate the time. the program is no joke and its a 98% pass rate on the NCLEX. they also offer a lpn to RN Bridge and are working on having a BSN program as well. hope that helps :))

As a student nurse you get sooo much advice and don't know how to swallow all of it. I graduate May 2014 with my lpn license but I have been a C.N.A for a couple of years..my question is what are your thoughts in going into a nursing home or sub acute facility and working as a C.N.A and when obtaining a license expect they would hire you? When I go in for an interview I always ask if there is room to grow and let them know that I am looking to move up as a nurse. At the same time am I making enemies out of the CNA''s that I will be working with, because they see you as one of them and then you become a nurse and now you are delegating to them......THOUGHTS???

I worked as a cn for like 3 yrs before I decided to go to nursing school. I tried 7-3 but its not my thing. yes it is fast paced but I honestly feel like you cannot do everything properly for the resident because you are rushing. Whenever I get trained for the morning shift I see them cut corners and that's not my thing. so I just do 3-11 and 11-7 where I can make my routine and take my time. I don't have to cut corners and I know when I leave that every depends or diaper is dry and all my residents are washed up and comfortable. Im pretty damn good at what I do but I was ok to admit the morning shift was not right for me. so if I were you try the the evening shift and see how you like doing that. goodluck!!

If you are only 3 mos in wouldn't they just be teaching you vital signs and can skills? what I would suggest you do is team up with one or more students from you class and ask if they can help and maybe use the skills lab ORRR youtube it. When I was finishing up 2nd qtr we had to take a skills test on catheters and trach care and wound care etc. and some of us were not fortunate to experience it in clinicals so before we took the test we just youtubed the skills just for a refresher and passed with flying colors. hope that helped!!

the hardest classes in the lpn program will be pharm and med surg. my advise to you is if you know the key words in each chp they lecture on you are half way there. trust and believe you will not know every drug but make sure you have the classifications down and how it effects with the body systems. Do flash cards as soon as you start or buy the flash cards from barnes and nobles that will help you with that class. GOODLUCK!!!
