Any Air Force new grad applicants FY2016?
Wow I think your credentials are great! I feel like the 3.9 GPA will really help. I was very worried because 3.5 is the minimum now and that is what I have! I'm also a member of SigmaTT so I hope that helps us both! I have briefly met with my recruiter in person, but he is stationed about 4 hours from me normally. We usually communicate through email as well. As far as military experience, I'm not sure how much that counts. I'm in the same boat as you. My husband was in the Marine Corps, but that doesn't count for me at all other than experience with military lifestyle. I'm thinking it doesn't weigh more than any other part of the application. I'm going med-surg route! Glad to have someone that is applying as well to talk about the anxiety and nervousness of the process :) !

Any Air Force new grad applicants FY2016?
My application is going well so far. How about yours? I'm currently stuck on medical stuff. Apprarently, something on my forms thru up a red flag for them so they have requested more documentation. I'm hoping that gets approved soon. As far as credentials, I have a 3.5, prior tech experience, 5 LORs so far, and no military experience! What about you?? I'm excited and nervous as well. I'm just hoping my medical forms get approved so that I can focus on preparing for the chief nurse interview!

Any Air Force new grad applicants FY2016?
Thanks for the input jfratian! I wasn't aware that Alaska was a voluntary only. I was kind of interested in going there, but do you know what the hospital and general life is like at that base? I've heard Alaska can be challenging for a first base. Kminak- Yay! So glad to see someone else is applying on here! Have you heard anything about numbers or that sort of thing. My recruiter is 3 hours away so most of our communication is through email. I haven't even gotten my medical exam or chief nurse interview assigned yet. I'm so excited for the process but very nervous! I want this more than anything!

Any Air Force new grad applicants FY2016?
Hello everyone, I haven't posted much but I'm currently in the process of applying for the new graduate nursing boards for the Air Force. I graduate with my bachelors of nursing in May!! I thought it would be nice to connect and see if anyone else is applying for the new graduate board selection. My recruiter told me they meet and make decisions in July. If I get it, I'll be heading to COT in October! Currently, the recruiter has me picking out bases that I would like to be selected at for NTP. I'm also awaiting a medical exam date. If anyone has any input on great places to start out my nursing career, let me know! Thanks!

Navy Nurse Candidate Program Summer 2013
No not tuition. The way my recruiter made it sound was that I wouldn't go to the boards in time to receive a two year scholarship (meaning two years of the monthly stipend). I will only be eligible for one year since I graduate in 2015. He was just saying by the time the board sees my application I'll probably only have 6 months left to receive benefits (which is okay with me anyways) :)

Navy Nurse Candidate Program Summer 2013
I would go ahead and contact your recruiter now, if you have received your acceptance letter. I graduate May 2015 and I'm currently working on my packet. My recruiter informed me that I missed the board I needed to get the full two year benefit. Therefore, if accepted, I will only get the one year scholarship and maybe only 6 months of stipend. It's better to start early than late. Contact your recruiter and he will let you know the timeframe that is best for you. Good luck :)

Navy NCP motivational statement questions
Hello everyone, I just had a few questions about the motivational statement for the NCP application. My recruiter sent a sample one, but it doesn't really apply to my life and qualifications. He told me to mention if I had family in the Navy that inspired me. My question is, is it appropriate to include my grandfather that served as a medic in the Army? I wasn't sure because he was not in the Navy. I didn't want to distract from the Navy being my choice. Also, in your opinion, would it be okay or beneficial to include that my husband motivated me while he was in the marines? Both of these family members really shaped my decision to become a nurse so I want to mention them. Thanks for your help!

I have some questions
I'm not in the military yet so I can't comment on what life is like in the military other than as a spouse of a marine. I'm currently in the process of applying for the NCP (nurse candidate program) with the Navy. Perhaps you could look into that program. You must be accepted into a BSN program to apply but you receive a bonus and monthly stipend during school. It is very competitive and takes a while to process! Good luck :)

Navy Nurse Candidate Program Summer 2013
Thanks! I've been nervous because the recruiter hasn't said it was bad. However, I've seem many post on here with people having 3.9 and 3.8! That's really amazing for nursing school!

Navy Nurse Candidate Program Summer 2013
Congrats on getting accepted! Sorry to change the subject, but would anyone mind sharing the Average GPA that the NCP selectees seem to have? I have a 3.7 now but fear that it may drop to a 3.6 at the end of this semester and don't wAnt it to ruin my chances! Thanks for any input at all!

Navy NCP FY2015 Applicants
Hey everyone! Good luck with your applications. Is there any way to still apply for the NCP if you gradute in 2015? I'll be graduating in May 2015 and want to apply but I fear I'm too late Is there another board that meets for the 2015 applicants or was the November one the last one. Thanks and good luck!

Any chance of still getting to apply for Navy NCP 2015?
Hello everyone, I haven't been able to get in touch with my local Navy recruiter yet :/ I'm sure he is just super busy so it is taking a while to respond to my call. However, I'm intersted in applying for the NCP program. I will be graduating in May of 2015. Is there still a chance for me to apply? I saw that many people already applied and they had a board in November. I have been considering this for almost two years now, but have just made my decision. Does anyone know the odds of getting in the program? I have a GPA of 3.72. That is a great GPA in my program here, but I'm not sure how that stacks up in the Navy. Thanks for all your insight!
