  1. Yeah, you sound good. The only thing that I can think of is either community service, leadership role or serving on unit committee. During my first interview, I asked them what makes a successful candidate, they pointed out my GPA, leadership and the fact that I was on my unit council. PS: I also had many leadership roles during Nursing school.
  2. My cumalative GPA is 3.87, summa cum laude. CCRN-CMC, Relief charge & new RN preceptor. 2 years Level I Trauma MICU.
  3. Oh ya definitely. I wouldn't stress interviews, so far, I interviewed at two schools and was accepted to both, you'll be okay. But searching threads here, it seems that fairfield is a bit more competitive; ~60 interviewees for 15 spots. what are your stats?
  4. Ya, ive ready put a deposit in for another profram but its a MSN and 10k more than fairfield so of i get accepted here, I'd rather do DNP for cheaper.
  5. How is fairfield's pogram? I'm not from the area. Does it really only cost ~85k for the DNP?
  6. Received an email from the director stattinf that I will hear about interview date soon.
  7. Between Villanova (DNP) and Drexel (MSN). Which program would you recommend? I want to be able to place Central lines, swans, blocks and epidurals.
  8. Are you from Philly? I'm trying to decide between Villanova and Drexel. Kinda stuck.
  9. So, I signed confendiality agreements for both schools so i cannot get into the details. But, if you search here, you should be okay. I just found out I was accepted to Drexel. Can somebody fill me in whether to go to Drexel or Villanova.
  10. Just trying to gauge if anyone here has applied here and has heard back. I have interviewed at both places. Stats: 3.9 GPA No GRE CCRN-CMC Preceptor, Charge, 2 years Level 1 Trauma MICU
  11. I recently interviewed, anyone know when we would hear back?
  12. I heard the interview is very clinical, true?
  13. MICU responds to Code Blues/Rapid Responses at nights, so I stuck that on the resume because in reality, I have responded to many of them in my 2 years here. Also, I recently took on the role of the representative for our unit council. All in all, I am doing everything in power to secure a spot. 2 interviews coming up, any hints/tips will be appreciated.
  14. Do schools acknowledge the fact that when you actually begin the program, one will have close to three years vs two during interview or application submission?
  15. I also applied for Summer 2019. I submitted my app January 22nd and still haven't heard anything as of now. What are your stats?
  16. Hello, I recently began applying and have sent out a couple of apps (4). My stats are as follows: -Science GPA: 3.9 -Nursing BSN GPA: 3.87, Summa Cum Laude -Level I Trauma MICU, Large teaching insitution, 1.5 years, hitting 2 in July. Charge trained, have precepted. -CCRN, studying for CMC During Nursing school, I held various leadership positions.
  17. I got a new job in MICU in a level one trauma center in a large teaching hospital with 8 other people. Don't go by what people say here, look around, be peristent, show interest and you should be fine.
  18. All of your class will take the classes at the same time except lab and clinical. I know for a fact that math lasts half a semester but i forgot about role lol
  19. Lab is separate from clinical. You will only have clinical for half a semester for PAI. The lab for health assessment and PAI are built into the didactic portion and will allow you to practice skills.
  20. Look on craigslist, there are always rooms up for rent near campus.
  21. Update: passed. Good pop up post 2 hours, 5, hours, 12 hours, as finally 24H.
  22. The only thing to do is either set your mind to something else, or just go ahead and do the PVT trick, it helped calm me down, nothing was distracting me from thinking about the nclex. -I tested the same day as you.
