  1. So sorry you were overlooked this year. Every year I do my bulletin board with pictures (School Health catalog covers are great, and search images online) and history of School Nursing. Any little card I get I post on my board. Little by little teachers and kids start to notice. You got to "blow your own horn" !!! Also finding appreciation in small ways, like the spontaneous thank you from a kid, or a sigh of relief from a parent, will help you get thru!
  2. Hi! I have been a School Nurse and Camp Nurse for a few years. I would add to this great list some non-medical supplies. Safety pins, sewing supplies, eye glass repair kit, Contact solution. Also I have found that putting hydrogen peroxide in a small spray bottle is great for cleaning knee scrapes, etc, without having to "touch it". Other indispensible items include running shoes, a big heart, patience, and a sense of humor! Happy Summer....
  3. I felt really appreciated this year! I received flowers and a card signed by all the administrators and secretaries. My name was put on the reader board outside school. I got alot of hand made cards from the Sp. Ed. kids. And the district Nursing Supervisor and Consulting Nurses gave all the school nurses a reception after school. Small bits of appreciation after a really long difficult year!
  4. :balloons: I am in GA and tomorrow is the last day of school! :rotfl: Right now I am cleaning up, packing up records, waiting for parents to pick up unused meds. I am in a HS, so the kids have gone home after their final exams this morning. I have never been so ready for the end of the year! But, I will be back next year to do it all again!!
