  1. Hi All! I am new to the site. I am currently working in Oregon, but will be moving to Conn in August (Vernon). My husband will be working at UCONN. I was out there last week and looked at Windham, Hartford, St. Francis and Uconn Med Ctr. hospitals. I currently work in a 130 bed community hospital (non-teaching), but have also worked in major medical centers such as Johns Hopkins and Ohio State. I want to do a travel assignment before I commit anywhere. Any ideas on good places to work? I am flexible on big/small hospitals I guess, but I am worried about patient load/staffing. I currently take 4-5 pts on a night shift! (this hospital is very well staffed). I am nervous about getting back into places where there is a nursing shortage. Any ideas? Who pays well? Any info appreciated! Thanks!
  2. Hi- I am new to the site. I am a nurse in Oregon and will be moving to Vernon area in August. I am really interested to get all the dirt on the Hartford area hospitals. I read your post on Manchester----I heard it wasn't that good, but only from one person. If you don't mind, I saw your link and would like to email you for some questions! I am also curious about the salaries in CT. I have 7 yrs experience in Oncology and Med/Surg. In Oregon I am making 27/hr-not including a 12.5% night shift diff. So I feel pretty lucky. Any insights would be great! Thanks-Jenny
