  1. Can someone email me the reading list for process 2 in central if they have it , to get an idea of what's to come ? [email protected] thanks
  2. I go to central and our process theory exams come out the fundamentals of nursing book, I would recommend finding out what chapters each exam will cover based on your campus and start reading, and like the person before me said practice doing critical thinking questions. At the end of every chapter there's review questions. Do them! They really help prepare you for exams. The questions are very similar to the format of our tests.
  3. For the people starting in the summer I really recommend reading ahead . Don't wait till your first day to start studying because the program is very fast paced as it is and winter term is longer than summer so I can imagine how much faster it'll be in the summer , the material so far in not complicated. Keep in mind I'm only in process 1 but its a lot of info all at once so it makes its difficult to balance. But it's not impossible, at the end of the day it comes down to how bad you want it and how hard your willing to study to achieve your goal. Overall i am very pleased with the program. I dont have anything negative to say. Good luck guys !
  4. FYI ---- for central process I clinical my instructor emailed me this "Dress in full scrubs and exactly what is on the dress code for a hospital clinical day in the syllabus. Reading is per your theory instructor. I will send out a group email as I get further info."
  5. Hi all! I'm a beginning central campus nursing student . Can someone whose already finished their first nursing semester break down for each course which books and supplies are absolutely needed, don't include the good to have/optional books/supplies for math dosages , process 1 & 2 , pharm, and clinicals for process 1& 2 . Please and thank you . No need to include uniforms in the list I got that :)
  6. Central campus students check your emails the professor sent us the exam dates and the chapters each exam is gonna cover for process 1 lecture
  7. Did you hear good things about the central program? I noticed u adviced we should go to central, why so?
  8. When I went to do my finger printing they gave me back three things a receipt showing u paid the 60$ and a paper you signed there and the seal envelope . Do not open the envelope take it to the school the way it was given to you, we have enough fees to pay , last thing u want is to pay 60$ so that Broward can tell u "we will not accept it because it has been opened" make photo copies of the other two things they give.
  9. Are you a central nurse student or graduate? What's your experience with the program in this campus? Any tips and advise u can give me to prepare for success in this program ? I'm excited to start and I'm already mentally preparing for this being the hardest thing I have ever done.
  10. Thanks for the clarification ! Did not know that :)
  11. When I turned in my documents to central they just took my documents not the whole portfolio, not sure if its different for north and south
  12. I turned in my documents today at central they just take the documents and put it in a file they have already for you with your name. So don't worry about having a folder to turn in your docs, but it's a good idea to have one to keep all your records organized, I do.
  13. When you go to the figure-printing place during their walk in hours does it take long to be helped and how long is the process ?

  15. You're awesome thank you! Btw whose your professor for process 1 and 2 and which hospital does central do their clinical's
  16. Make sure your typing the letter o and not zero if you over 21 it should be RO79-21
  17. That book is pretty much all you need, the math is everything that's on that book they let u use a calculator for every question but its on the computer built into the test u can't bring your own, memorize conversions and Roman numerals, reading is basic there's not much u need to study you either comprehend the paragraphs or not , and there very easy paragraphs, vocab study all the words in the book plus the words on the link Thats on this post also quizlet helped me a lot , grammar is very very basic it's identical to the evolve book. Try to do as many practice test as you can before the actual test. I also used the McGraw-hills hesi practice test book , which in my opinion had harder questions than the actual test . So if u can do good on those than you should be ready . And I used the hesi a2 secrets study guide book. Good luck, study hard and stay positive. http://www.uiw.edu/nursing/documents/HESI-TopicsofStudy-2012.pdf
  18. Btw my classes will be at central too so it's perfect :)
  19. I'm registered for central! Does anyone know which hospital central does its clinical's at and who are professors will be?
  20. Okay so I email the executive assistant of the central campus my same question and she just answered me back I CAN decline the hepatitis shot. I'm going to make sure to print this email and have it as evidence with my papers. I'm not against taking the shots but these fees are adding up and If i can avoid unnecessarily paying for something I don't need because I know I am protected because I took all three shots in 1993 ill do it. I don't have health insurance for this year so everything is coming out of pocket . So anyone going through my same situation here's the answer !
  21. I was going over the Immunization verification form with my doctor and she advised me to sign off on declining the hepatitis B vaccination because my medical records show I took all three Hepatitis B shots in 1993. Since on the immunization form it gives us that option to decline it does anyone know if I DO decline the shot will it affect me continuing on being admitted to the nursing program. Hopefully some one thats already started the program can help me. Thanks
